| I'll always remember this one Gentleman who walked into our sales booth at a homeshow some years ago... He was a visible minority in clean jeans, flip flops and a button down long sleeve shirt. No one would serve him, they'd all pretend to be busy and ignored the chap. So I hurried up and finished with my customer while asking for his continued patience. I treated him just like any other person who walked in and everyone I meet in general... with respect! To make a long story short, the best sale of the day, he pulled a wad of cash that I'd NEVER seen before... of course I stared... He must have had 30-40K on him cash... all 1000$ and 100$ bills. Being the ballsy kid I was, I asked him outright what he did for a living. He said... Your booth.... my building. On the flipside... I can't tell you how many times Gucci boys credit card gets rejected. I've had similar experiences myself John....NEVER judge a book by its' cover...... | |

So, money is more important than looks or personality?
(sarcasm alert) Well, that's a revaluation.

I step-out of character once in awhile and surprise people. (And even surprise myself!)...I know how to dress-up to the "hilt" when need be...I'm not really a "country bumpkin!"...But I enjoy being "unassuming" and blending into the "woodworks" most of the time...Maybe you could call it taking on a "Clark Kent personna." I sit back and take things "in" and play "secret reporter."...This is how I learn about life and human nature for my writing and just for my general knowledge!...I like to be the "fly on the wall" that nobody sees or notices!

I think Texas Scoundrel is talking more about attracting the opposite sex which is why he thinks people should look their best. I look my best for a job interview or when I am in uniform as I wouldn't want to do anything to embarrass the military. For me; uniforms scare guys off anyways; so its all good. Other than that; its casual clothing. I used to dress up for a date but when I was dating but then thought why bother? Just wore jeans and t-shirts after a while as it never seemed to make a difference to guy one way or another.

Especially if they are uniforms worn at a Playboy facility.

Well; there are the rare few but here its not that way. I thought it was just me but found other girls were also having the same problem. Guess; we just have lots of insecure guys.

Probably. You know if any of your girlfriends in uniforms are between the ages of 28-36 you feel free to send them my way. | |

navygirl...Sorry that your uniform seems to intimidate men and scare them off in your area...You're right. They are obviously insecure. Sad!...I was actually guilty of over-dressing a few years back when my husband and I went to a wedding in So CA...I was sure my dress would be okay. It was an average but cute dress. (Not evening wear or glitzy.)...But what a shocker! Quite a few young people wore shorts to the wedding. (We were seated in the "young peoples' section for some reason.)...But they were fun and we all had a great time.

I have had 16 years to adjust to it and really don't give it much thought. I went to a wedding a few years back too and yep I wore shorts and a tank top. I was dressed the same way as everyone else. Only ones dressed up were the Bridal party and immediate family.

I was taught that you are "your own brand". Meaning you need to represent yourself. I do not have make up on in my pictures on here but I do wear makeup. I use skin care products, etc. I dress casual but I try to dress it up a little. At the very least, I put on lipstick before I walk out the door.
