I have been seeing alot here lately about 2013 being the Year of Peace. and although I welcome peace with welcome arms, I'd like to give my thoughts on this. Peace, by no means comes cheap.
Thomas Jefferson said The Tree of Liberty from time to time shall need to be watered by the blood of Patriots and Tyrants. It is it's natural Manure.
And, also, for those who want to erradicate domestic terrorism by putting a ban on firearms, I'll rebuttal with another Thomas Jefferson quote
Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who didn't.
also, another one, quite commonly heard, an armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity.
and also, that peace is earned, and kept, by warriors. not just the men in uniform. those average guys that might not have had a brave or courageous life before that will run to aide a mugging victim.

also, before pearl harbor in 1941, the Japanese emperor was wanting to invade america, but his admiral told him not to because "behind every blade of grass in America is a gun."
For decades that was the number one reason why no one messed with us. there had not been a single attack on our own soil between 1816-1941 and then, pearl harbor, then we dropped two nukes on the ones who did it, then from 1945-1993. what also happened in 93? the first president who opposed firearms! Clinton put the first firearm ban on law-abiding American citizens. and now look at where we are. been dragging out this war in the middle east because we want to be politically correct. Why not let the US Army do what the US Army is known for doing, level the f***ing B@$+@rds and the vast majority of our boys that have died wouldn't have. just my opinion. feel free to comment :-)

There are too many self serving people in this world to do away with war. There is too much money to be made.

Sooner or later the "books" have to be balanced, and the longer we let them get farther & farther off-balance, the worse the "rebalancing" is going to be.

I can't say it'll happen this year, but IMO, the picture doesn't look very good. I hate to sound like Chicken Little, but we'd all better start watching for chunk's of falling sky.

As much as I hate to double post, I came across another "prophecy" for 2013 as gloomy as the first one I posted, but didn't come back in time to add it as an edit to my first post. My apologies...Please forgive me, but this thread appears to be the most approriate place to post this, and in light of other recent discussions regarding the apparent decline of America into a lawless rogue state, it's "predictions" for the upcoming year(s) are practically verified by the events we see happening now.

I think a bit of perspective is important.

Now if we could just stop making war on other nations, and work to get real jobs back here in the US.

Interesting that it seems so important now that violent crime has dropped so much over the years that we now have such an urgency to do something about it eh?

So we meet again...The "End of days" heads versus the "New beginning" tails.

Let's face it though, you are no more a fortune teller than I am, right? I mean, neither one of us can really say what is going to happen tomorrow, or the day after that. Sure, the world could come to a fiery end or maybe an alien life form will sprout from the sky.

But honestly...F* if I know.

I don'y either...Nobody can predict he future. What I do know is that our future will largely be determined by our actions.

The best we can do is our best; the worst we can do is nothing. If enough of us try to bring things to a head now, instead of waiting to see, our chances will improve. If we wait, it will probably follow the trend and get worse as time goes on until when it finally does come to a head, it will be a bigger pop than if it happens today.

I really believe that if we all pull together to "get the job done", we can build a better world in pretty short order, but if we wanna sit in front of a TV with a "happy meal" and watch things unfold, the picture won't be very pretty (excluding the propaganda of course) and we will probably see the demise of human civilization before the burger is finished.
