From a news report:

Former presidential candidate Ron Paul is taking heat for a tweet he sent out Monday afternoon about the Navy SEAL who was killed at a Texas gun range over the weekend.

Chris Kyle, 38, a decorated Iraq war veteran, a former SEAL and author of “American Sniper,” was shot and killed Saturday. Police arrested Eddie Ray Routh, 25, a veteran authorities say may have a mental illness related to his military service.

In response to the news, Paul tweeted: “Chris Kyle’s death seems to confirm that ‘he who lives by the sword dies by the sword.’ Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn’t make sense.”

The tweet set off a chain reaction of criticism online.

Aaron Worthing (@AaronWorthing) responded: “What the Hell, @RonPaul? Are you actually blaming Chris Kyle for his own death?”

Michelle Lancaster (@SkiGarmisch) added, “Very disrespectful commentary to this man, his memory and his family. Shame on you.”

Razor (@hale.razor) wrote, “So all veterans, once done serving our nation with honor, deserve to be murdered as civilians? Wow.”

So, will Ron Paul's supporters have the courage to admit that Ron Paul put his foot in his mouth?

I don't even know that RP personally runs his twitter feed all the time or at all. An aide may be doing it. Regardless, aside from being politically incorrect, what's wrong with it? The tweet is correct. Are you an agent for the Thought Police, OP?

Well, fer sure.
How old is Paul?

However, it doesn't make a lot of sense taking an apparently unstable person out to a firing range does it?

Then, to Paul's credit;

We have an idiot wanting laws passed when he has no clue what he's talking about. And....... hussein is much younger, no?

‘He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.'

People can't handle the truth.

--- law of attraction. ----

Ron Paul speaks the truth and people don't often like what he says.

He does. This is what i like about him.drinker

But i guess I have to agree with the OP in that he put his foot in his mouth on this one. He could have phrased things more "politically". Although i suppose that wasn't his style...

Nobody is perfect. We can't expect them to be. I have no illusions about this.

But I still believe we are going to be much worse off without Dr. Paul in the House.

Chris Kyle has my deepest respects.

Cris Kyle is a hero.

Ron Paul makes another verbal mistake.

He may as well speak the truth as he sees it, even if most people won't understand that one. I think his political career has come to its end anyway. There is no reason to be politically correct or tip toe around the truth or what he feels at this point.

In some way, we are all very responsible for what happens to us. Not everyone believes in or understands that level of responsibility that reaches down to the quantum soup of reality.

Why do you feel that Cris Kyle is a hero?

Egads! You can like Ron Paul and still admit that he put his foot in his mouth in this particular case (as Drivinmenutz did).

Certainly. RP is a fellow who generally does not mince words or play nice to appeal to popular tastes. This is a strength and weakness. Truth is treason in an empire of lies. The good thing is that when Ron says something, he is being truthful to the best of his knowledge. Unfortunately, Boobus Americanus does not like painful, red pill reality. That's why you wind up with audiences at the debates booing the Golden Rule and information directly from US intelligence agencies. frustrated

On top of that, RP has long trusted people in his campaigns who, IMO, are incompetent. Ron was just too nice to fire them.

But I don't think he put his foot in his mouth. He spoke what he felt.
He was against the war in Iraq and against unnecessary military spending on aggressive wars and invasions into third world countries for questionable reasons.

He is against spreading our military all over the world and spending billions of dollars over there when that money could be used to build America and defend our boarders.

People need to stop demanding that politicians always say what they want to hear and start demanding the truth. Too many politicians spew meaningless nonsense and bald faced lies they themselves don't even believe.

All this absurd political correctness makes me ill.

Ron Paul has no reason to try to please anyone. The system has already black balled him from ever being elected to their corporate club and he has little to loose so he may as well continue to be honest.

Indeed, i have to agree. He did speak the truth, and used facts and statistics, specific examples, etc. instead of attacking and resorting to the "games" politicians tend to play. This is why I admire the man. Even if he is attacked, he will retort with more information. This is also why nobody bothers to confront him in a debate.

I agree with Ron Pauls statement! Chris Kyle was not this guys therapist and had no business trying to treat his condition. Taking someone with PTSD to a gun range would be like taking recovering alcoholic to a wine tasting event.
