their spin has you acting defensively
sometimes
I wish my feelings could be quiet
because
when they’re intense
they create in me such a riot
it’s never something I do
on purpose
honestly!
because if I did
I would stop it
seriously!
since my childhood
I’ve been dissenting
from everything
naturally
and from others
drawing outside the lines
and mixing all the colors
my heart attaches deeply
instinctively
it beats for peace
and it breaks
ever so easily
why did God create
a tempo in me
only He can see
when will I know the devotion
that makes us all complete
I feel like I ask these questions
repeatedly
and selfishly
but what of
am I so damn guilty
don’t I have the right to know
IF
and how much
you really do want me
this answer is what I seek
every time I enter a room
my eyes look for you
amid the crowd
while my thoughts flow out
can’t you hear my voice
am I such a difficult choice
is it not you that you think
I’m looking for
is that why you simply ignore
all my knocks on your door
because it’s definitely you
that I need
to help me believe
life is still for the living
and our hearts
are meant for the giving
if you feel these same vibrations too
and they open your mind
to everything new
but by trying to decide
you become speechless
and confused
just go with your instinct
you know
that feeling in your gut
that refuses to let up
as it compels you into action
demanding its own satisfaction
and together
we’ll learn to dance
because
I’m your woman
you’re my man
and we found us
and possibly love
in this place for romance
