Well over the past 2 years I have had a "kick" of reading vampire related fiction.

I figure I would like to talk about the ones I have read here and maybe get some recommendations.

Authors I have read on the subject recently;
Laurel K Hamilton
Kim Harrison
Charlaine Harris
Wm Mark Simmons
Barb & J.C. Hendee
Anne Rice
L.A. Banks

Anyway hopefully people want to talk about this and maybe I can get a recommendation or two.

Awesome

In those are the vampire the main characters, or are the main characters vampire hunters. Or are vampires just side characters?

In the dark hunter series, each book follows one dark hunter who is a "vampire" (they are immortal and have fangs but do not drink blood or anything they are good) but they keep the bad vamps from stealing peoples souls. I really love the series just discovered it about a month ago so I'm just starting to get all of the books.

"Twilight," "New Moon," and "Eclipse" are some books written by Stephanie Meyer. I haven't read them, but heard they are good. I think she is from Oregon, a friend told me about them the other day, but what was intriquing is that she picked a local town in Washington to use for the location for her stories. She picked Forks, Washington, a small, ex-logging town, out on the northwest corner of the state, apparently because it is "cloudy and dreary" and the vampires could come out easily (so my friend said anyway). I lived in Forks for 14 years, and it was cloudy and rained A LOT - had 150 inches of rain one year, even have two rain forests in the National Park out there.

I think I will see if I can find her books to read though, hear they are selling fast and hard to find. Really popular right now.
