I go to church because although I have a personal relationship withGod, it is nice to be amongst the gathering if brethren.
Sometimes we need lifting up: when we're confused, when we'reafraid, and when we just don't know what to do. Being on good soil (a good church) helps with the edification of the soul as well.

Everyome have their own reasons.
-some believe it is a good place to meet their life partner;
-some go cause it is a day of worship
-some go to listen to the word and enrich their souls.
-Some go cause there is Good network for browsing
-some go just to show off their new car or clothes
-some see it as a good place for business.

What are your own reasons?

It is the same for me.

I also go to church because that is the appropriate place to receive a sermon, not an Internet discussion forum.

True, but when I want to receive a sermon, I attend a church and listen to a pastor deliver a sermon.

understood, taking a sermon from someone who has not studied the bible would be pointless,,,,,

not to confuse a sermon with a correction or christan advise though,,,,

Well, I am constantly amazed by the mini-"sermons" that preacher-wannabes keep posting in this particular forum.

This I do agree with!

Often times people go because they're told they should. If you're not there to fellowship, show love and compassion for other members, and attempt to grow in the Spirit, you're there foolishly.

Why go to church? Think of it like this. Candles stand in candlesticks, light bulbs go into light sockets, and trees grow in soil. Without candlesticks, candles would fall over. Without being plugged in, light bulbs would never shine. And without soil, trees would simply die. For Christians, the church is a candlestick, a power source, and somewhere to put down roots – so that you can stand, shine, and grow. Alongside the Bible and prayer, the church is one of the rich resources, which God has given us in our lives as Christians. Enjoy – and God bless you.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25) kjv

I enjoy going to church and hearing the Word of God preached. The Word of Truth is my strength. God wants us to fellowship with others.
