I'm glad *someone* likes my posts today!! I think I need to stay away from the immigration issues- I think I'm burned out on them and am just saying the same things over and over again... so I appreciate you adding a different topic.

I disagree, it is very frustrating but I believe there are things we can do. Mostly make sure we keep our own standards of behavior (as you suggest) but also we can speak up to others when they do or say things we disagree with... I think too many people are silent to be "agreeable"...

This just encourages poor behavior because if you don't say anything to the contrary then people assume you agree with them and their behavior.

But you seem like you would speak up anyway...

BTW, I am seriously considering making an appointment to get my "grill" made.. I saw some on SoBe yesterday that seemed extra shiny... with DIAMONDS.... hee hee...

i really do think so. the kind of people that will actually listen and consider their role in the situation so that they can reslove it aren't the kind of people that are causing the deteriation of our society. it's the ones who blame it on someone else or just tell you to kick rocks when you do speak up.

People do often, as you so memorably phrase it, "tell me to kick rocks", but I just smile and keep trying to get them to consider how others feel... sometimes it seems to help, sometimes I know it does not. I will keep trying. It can't hurt?!?!

there have always been close minded people but i honestly think that it is really only a couple generations old. i would have to say somewhere around the 70's is when it took a turn and it has just spiraled from there.
