Alpha’s Lemon Ramen

Ingredients:

1 Packet Chicken Ramen
1 Can Tuna
3 or 4 Pieces of broccoli (omit if your a broccoli hater)
Pinch/Clove of garlic
Dash of Mrs Dash chicken seasoning
Dash of Lemon pepper
Lemon or lemon juice to taste
Soy Sauce
Break the ramen up when its in teh bag. I use the blunt end of a knife because I’m badass like that. Cook as directed, but add a little more water then you would normally use.

When the ramen is cooked to your liking, stirin the seasoning packet. Keep it at a boil.

Throw in the broccoli now. I know some people are deathly afraid of the stuff, so you dont have to.

Put in a GOOD amount of Mrs dash and lemon Pepper. I used about the same amount of both, but about 5 good shakes of the shaker.

Put in your garlic. A fair pinch or good clove will do the trick, but dont overuse it.

Give it a good squeeze of lemon juice, or drop in an 1/8th slice of a lemon.

Dump in your soy sauce (I used one resturant packet). Also add your can o
tuna now.

Its a bit high on the sodium, but damn good.

Fried Ramen Cake

Ingredients

1 pkg ramen – chicken flavor works best
1 egg
3 tablespoons butter
In a small saucepan heat 1 cup of water to boiling. Add flavor packet and ramen noodles. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until all the water is absorbed. In the meantime, whisk the egg in a small bowl.

Heat butter in a medium-sized nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until the foaming subsides.

This next step needs to be done swiftly so that the egg doesn’t scramble - when the noodles are done, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the whisked egg quickly, stirring all the while to coat the ramen, then dump the whole thing into the skillet. Use a fork to arrange the noodles into a rough circle.

Cook without disturbing until the bottom of the cake is browned, then flip the whole thing over with a spatula and brown on the other side. It’s done when it is brown and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

You could add things to the noodles (chicken or meat or veggies) but it’s pretty pointless because they are perfect the way they are.

Spicy Garlic Noodles with Roasted Chicken

Ingredients

1 Package Creamy Chicken Ramen
1 Can Canned Chicken
1/2 Tsp Canned Minced Garlic
2 Tbl Butter
1/2 Tsp Chili Powder
1/2 Tbl Sriracha, or Red Chili Flakes
Optional

1/2 oz White Wine
Herbed Feta Cheese
Start by shredding and seasoning canned chicken with chili powder, salt, pepper, and 1/2 package of ramen seasoning. Boil Ramen noodles until tender, drain. Add a little butter to non-stick pan and get it hot, add chicken, let brown on one side, flip chicken, cook on med-high heat until nicely browned and slightly crispy. Reserve cooked chicken.
Reheat same pan, add butter and allow to brown slighty, but not burn. This will give a very nice nutty brown butter flavor to the noodles. Add minced garlic. Cook until just fragrant.
Add noodles to brown butter/garlic mixture, salt, pepper. cook on high heat stirring constantly until hot. Add sriracha, or crushed chili flakes. (Optional: deglaze noodles with a little white wine and cook until almost dry). Add chicken, toss until heated through
Serve with crumbled herbed feta cheese or parmesan.

Cheesy Ranch Ramen

Ingredients

2 packages of any flavor ramen (your not gonna use the packet anyway)
1 cup ranch dressing
1 cup shredded cheese ( I prefer cheddar, to each his own)
a pinch of parsley (optional)
a pinch of basil (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
Take the ramen packets and while there are still in the packages crush the ramen up, dont turn it into dust, but in many many pieces. Now take the ramen in a pot and fill the pot with water to cover the noodles, and cook them like the package says. Drain the noodles with a fork, I wouldnt suggest a strainer, seeing how the noodles would fall out.

Put the drained ramen back on the stove and under low heat add the cheese and ranch dressing and stir until the cheese is melted and add any seasonigs you please.

Hot & Sour Soup

Ingredients

1 pkg Ramen noodle soup (Beef or Chicken)
2 cups water
1-2 tsp soy sauce to taste
2 tsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar, if you don\’t have this kind)
dash red pepper flakes
Optional Ingredients

1/2 can bean sprouts
1 green onion, chopped (green part only)
corn starch or xanthan gum powder
In a medium saucepan, combine the water, the ramen noodles (break up in package first), contents of seasoning packet, and bean sprouts (if opted). Heat on high until mixture comes to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and cook for an additional 10-15 mins or until noodles are cooked to your preferred ‘doneness’.

Add the soy sauce and vinegar and stir for a minute or two.

Serve immediately, garnished with green onions.

Make sure you can eat all of this at once, or share it with someone, as the leftover version isn\’t very tasty.

Note: If you want to thicken the soup to a consistency more like the Asian restaurants serve it, take 1 tsp corn starch or xanthan gum powder and 3 tablespoons cold water and mix them together in a small bowl or cup, stirring until dissolved. Add this to the pot after the first time it boils, bring to boil again to thicken.

Tu-Noodle Stew

Ingredients

1 package of shrimp ramen noodles
1 can of tuna fish
1 hard boiled egg
vinegar
lemon juice or lemon pepper seasoning
hot sauce
dill weed
dried onion flakes
oyster crackers
butter or margarine
Cook the noodles as directed. Add the can of tuna (drained & flaked), chop the hard boiled egg & add to pot. Use the next 5 seasonings to taste, I usually use about a teaspoon of vinegar, a half teaspoon of lemon juice, a few drops of hot sauce depending on the brand I’m using, a pinch of dill weed, and a teaspoon of onion flakes. Let stand for several minutes to allow the flavors to blend together & the onion flakes to rehydrate. Top with oyster crackers, a pat of butter & enjoy!

1 pack Texas Beef Ramen (or regular beef, or asian - but Texas Beef is best)

Cook noodles. Use one of your work boots and the concrete floor of your cell to crush the peanuts inside the bag. Add about 2/3 of the peanuts and eat the rest while you’re “cooking”. Hamburger Ramen Stroganoff

1 Package of ramen in mushroom flavor
1/2 to 1 cup raw hamburger, or cooked crumbled hamburger, or mince up left over roast or sandwich cut.
sour cream
black pepper or hot sauce
Add water in pan and mix in some raw hamburger broken up well. (If meat is pre-cooked, you may add it later). Bring to boil (hamburger will be almost cooked by now) and add noodles - I like them unbroken - and cook as you like till done (hamburger will be done by now too). If using pre-cooked meat add now. Add seasoning packet and stir well. Drain off all broth and add a good heaping tablespoon (or more if you like) sour cream and toss well. Sprinkle on some black pepper or hot sauce if you like a bite to your food. Commence conspicuous consumption.
