So I've been sitting here flipping through the search and I find it a little annoying that so many guys don't fill out their profile. How can a woman tell if she's interested if you don't write anything? I mean not all woman just look at the picture and decide. Personally I think if you can't fill out the profile you're just wasting everyone's time. What do you think?

Some people are here for friends too...Some might just want to see if anyone is even interested before putting anything out there, others could be scamming people, some probably just didn't know how to deactivate their profile.

Personally, dating scares the Holy Jesus out of me so I don't bother with it...But figure that you can never have too many friends.

Hummm...really didn't think about all that. But I see what your saying. Nothing scarier that setting yourself up for a possible let down! (aka dating)

I agree I just started looking at the search and 9 out of 10 say tell ya later or have nothing written. So why even bother?

For me, when I search, most of the girls I would talk to have not been seen in over a month and some seem to have been MIA for years.

So I've decided to just chat in the forums and maybe I'll find a girl here I like who's interested in the same things I am.

my profile is actually one of those that is pretty sketchy. It's partly because having a thorough profile has not helped. People can say anything in a profile...who knows if half that stuff is true

I mean, geez, everyone is "down to earth, and "hates drama..." and all the men love camping (yuck)

so the last time I "joined again" I did not bother filling it in because 1. I decided to just look for friendships on the threads, and 2. IF something is going to happen, I prefer to get to know someone through interactions in the forums.

i have came across A LOT of female profiles that are the same ways.so it's not just guys that don't fill out their profiles

I totally agree with you. If they answer all questions no and profile just says hi I hit DELETE. You could at least take a few minutes to right something??

Well, I feel that physical attraction is the first thing the eyes see. I don't mind communicating with someone that is interested in meeting, but I think that women sometimes don't want to make the first contact/ But maybe it's just me :-). I have been on these sites before and have very little luck finding someone, and if it happens they are usually an hour or two away which is hard to establish a close relationship. Not many alternatives though when you don't do the bar scene or live in a small town.

It is only a waste of time if you close your own self off to possibilities...

I'm not sure why it takes a profile to start up a conversation... most are on here for a reason, to meet someone, not to read through a bunch profiles that may or may not be true..... to me, profiles are as useless as the time it takes to read it, because you can't know people until you meet them...

And I think if you have nothing in common how can you talk, personally I would prefer a connected soul to a pretty face

actually there are people that put things in their profile that you want to hear but once you start chatting with them,you start to see a side of them that isn't shown in their profile.so things you read in profiles can be pointless.the best way to find out how a person is is by chatting/taking with them

No, I go by what they say, not by what they type...pics are somewhat useless to, unless there is a bunch of them... i can get a better understanding of who they are when i talk on the phone or meet them in person...

the reason we say tell ya later is that way you can't find reasons not to talk to us. ....besides if you state everything in a profile where is the fun conversations of 'getting to know you' type conversations. And come on let's be honest if looks didn't matter at all no one would be here. Everyone would hooked up with their neighbor ugly bobby, or ugly betty down the street. Not saying that everyone needs to be a super model, but if you not attracted to someone physically, i mean not at all, doesn't matter what they say in their profile because honestly you're not going to bother reading it anyway.
