I have a thread on North American Indigenous Spirituality & Healing posted in the OTHER RELIGION SINGLES section... Everything was working fine, until today.. It does not show up on the main index (COMMUNITY) any more..? Why?

..and how do I get to the thread, now..? Is it somewhere else..?

Thanks!

MAIN COMMUNITY INDEX --> http://mingle2.com/forum/list

It used to be under RELIGION..

Hello Jagbird,

Have you recently changed your religion settings? The thread is still there, in other religion. http://mingle2.com/topic/show/362089

It's because you changed your religion to "no answer" in your profile. If you change it back to "other" then you would see that forum.

No answer or non-religious options won't show a specific religion.

How did you know that I changed it..? LOL!

And you are completely right..! I changed it back to other..and now that section appears back in the COMMUNITY listings..

So.. what you are implying here, is that the system is set up so people who have done the same thing as I did will NOT see the thread.. and therefore, might be a reason why I have little traffic in there..? Seams a little biased, to me.. Could this be reposted in the main Religion section, so more people can view it..?

I also noticed that you can't view the over 50 thread and/or that particular section unless you are logged in.. Why is that, when you can view everything else (other threads) withour being l;ogged in..? You can still type OVER 50 Mingle 2 and OTHER RELIGION Mingle2 to get to both threads/sections though.. (through Google)..

But.. THANK YOU very much: yellowrose10, TxsGal3333 & markecephus for all your help and input in this.. Much appreciated..

Flowers to all of you.. flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

One more question... Does this also mean that if I don't fill out other parts of my profile, that there will be other threads/sections I am missing (not able to see) in the lists..?

We separated the religion forums, in the interest of reducing conflicts.

You can choose which forums you subscribe to. In the header, select 'community' then chose 'settings'

http://mingle2.com/forum/settings you can subscribe/unsubscribe forums. Also, on the same page, you can choose forum font colors. (this only applies to topics, it will not change the color of your posts)

General Religion is a forum for all members to discuss topics. There are separate religion forums for like minded to discuss their beliefs. The individual religion forums are the only forums that all members can't access. Example: an Atheist can't access the Christian forums and vice versa.

If you have no answer or non-religious then the system won't assign a specific religion forum because those 2 options have no religion to assign it to.

General Religion is for all members to discuss topics.

Thanks! (Miigwetch! .. in my other tongue..) :)

This morning I set it to default, which looks like I should be subscribed to all of them now.., right..?

I have to suggest, that you have no choice for just "spirituality" in your religion choices, like most other sites have..? Most have "spiritual, but not religious" these days.., as an option..

Traditional Indigenous Spirituality is NOT a "religion" so I debated where to put the thread..

Thanks again..!!

Yes.. I understand this.., but it's wrong.. Ask any native person who is traditional.. We draw a very thick line between religion and our own spirituality.. It is not a religion of any kind.. We (TRUE traditional people) do accept & respect other people's choices, though.. (as long as it is not harmful to themselves and/or others.. (i.e.: Jim Jones.. / and the more recent "spaceships to heaven"..)

Everyone must find their own pathway.. (God-Great Spirit listens to everyone)

Shakers" would be the closest thing to religion.. and they do refer to their pathway as a religion..

,,and why such a short window to edit in here..?

When you make as many typos as I do, you need more time to edit.. LOL! laugh
