Ever met a man or woman that your really attracted too, then after some decent conversation end up with some thoughts into your head about not being worthy of them? You know like they are just that awesome of a person.

Had this happen to me a few times in life and I wonder if anyone else has had these kinds of experiences.

Have you ever let the person decide if you were or not?Or have you just walked away?

Not really, I'm attracted to women that like me and I try not to go about thinking that other people are better than me and that I'm unworthy of them. Thinking that someone is out of your league is a different sort of thing I think. I might think that someone that lives a different lifestyle is out of my league but that's to say no more than that they aren't really my type.

@Wolfchic
I've ended up with a few of them in my lifetime.

@Tawt.
I didn't really mean in like a comparison way. I kinda meant more like they come from a completely different environment than I do? More like this person is everything I'm not but still similar in a way that just gives off a really awesome vibe....Kinda hard to explain exactly.

Think that I sort of know what you mean and I posted a thread a while ago myself about a girl that I know that I don't think that I really have that much in common with but I do get on with her pretty well and there does seem to be a mutual attraction. I mean, I'll be honest, I have a sort of rakish charm that appeals to some women and this girl is always up for a bit of flirting but she's totally different from the type of women that I usually get involved with and even totally different from the sort of people that I would usually asociate with as friends.

So yeah, when I think about this girl and the stuff that she does in her spare time I can't really see myself fitting in with that lifestyle or contributing to it. On the other hand, there seems to be some sort of chemistry and I would date her. I've had a few brief conversations with her and she's a nice girl. Maybe too nice for me though and I don't think that's really the same thing as saying that I think that she's too good for me because I really don't think that she's better than me but she might if she knew what I'm really like. I mean that I've only met her in social situations when I've been on my best behaviour.

Not entirely sure what you mean exactly. Like someone that you feel you won't / can't really match with in a relationship, but you still got that unbelievable attraction?

I've never known of who made me feel that way. However, I can't imagine ever thinking I was unworthy of anyone.....

Sorry you feel this way, Lionsbrew, from what I've seen of your posts on here, you're a good guy. And worthy of anyone.flowerforyou

Yeah, totally agree with that! You got a lot of insight in life the universe and everything, an open mind and you look good too. I think you're one of the best "catches" on this site. If only I was a bit younger, :laughing: :laughing:

then what heppens if they really aren't all that when you meet? that part scares me a little,but when someone seems really awesome it's hard not to get out the pedestal for them....lollaugh :wink:

to answer your question, yes that has happened. as I just mentioned on another thread, I have spent the past couple of years working on discovering that I am a pretty worthy person myself... I am hoping that will help me in future interactions.

nice to see you brewflowerforyou

Yes, and like you I wondered if others ever felt the same way....I have to say it has not happened in a long, long while though...For me, it was connected to self esteem issues that were affecting my self confidence...I was afraid of making mistakes and I was not willing to risk rejection...Now, the mantra is "Nothing ventured, nothing gained"...:wink:

well, a lot happens up to that point in life including childrearing, marraige, divorce, education, career. I really think one has to be about 40 before things settle down enough so we can even get a minute to breathe and think about who we are, and where we are going. not being a planner much IDK if I will ever answer that question :)

Well seems I got some good insight here. As well as some very thoughtful words from some very beautiful people.flowerforyou I do gotta say I wasn't thinking about it in a personal self worth kinda way. I did exchange info with her and I could tell by her body language and the direction our conversation went the other day there is mutual attraction.laugh

Like I said it is a little hard to explain. Its pretty close to what Crystal said earlier about a total attraction but not seeing it as workable. It is really hard to explain. I guess you could say I have an admiration for her accomplishments. Its odd I don't normally have a problem with vocabulary but I am having a little trouble hacking this out of my brains thesaurus.
