Thought provoking comment: I have read all the replies to my topic and there are quite a few "I want this, I want that" but very few that have said they can give back what they demand. I thought it was a two way street, a mutual understanding a synergy between two people rather than you should treat me in the way I want attitude. Maybe I am wrong but men have feelings too. Oops maybe I shouldn't have said that. Now the cats out the bag. Yes men have feelings too its just some, maybe most find it hard to show it. I know personally that I have needs too and mainly all I require is to be loved and cared for and the occasional hug would be nice. In a way I wished I got that from my ex wife, if I did I wouldn't be here now. Your question was "what do women really want in a man", not "what do you believe a relationship should be". Subtle difference, but if you want an answer tailored to the "two-way street" you mentioned, you may want to consider an alternative question. The question was a test to see who would offer a two way compromise. It's always been a two-way compromise and personally I thought that was a given. It's not about bringing a division between the partners, but of a melding of the two. Love is about giving...not withholding. The ones who give the most to each other, get the same in return if they are in a balanced relationship. The problem comes when each takes more than they are willing to give. JMHO  Full marks for the amazing dcastelmissy.. That sounds lovely. I am only commenting on my own experiences, I know everyone is different however with hindsight if I knew what did now my choices would have been very different. It's amazing how we all get wiser as time progresses and we have time to sit back and reflect on our actions, reactions, and choices which we have made. I know that's true in my case, but also seems to be true with many others. Well, tomorrow is another day, I always say!!

The only drawback to a man who's rich enough to take care of you is, there's already a woman and at least 3 kids sitting in his house, greatly enjoying being take care of....

The only drawback to a man who's rich enough to take care of you is, there's already a woman and at least 3 kids sitting in his house, greatly enjoying being take care of.... Make that a woman, three ex-wives, and six kids, three from each ex-wife!!!

And probably a few sexual harassment lawsuits. Hell, the guy is probably living hand to mouth with his past debt and current obligations....but sure, looking for a rich man is a really good idea.

They get that taking care of someone is not an insult but a privilege. |

There are plenty of wealthy single men looking for beautiful, smart, women to be stay at home wives, mothers, or business partners. They get that taking care of someone is not an insult but a privilege. I guess I haven't seen those people. Most guys I know who are well off have a wife and a few kids and a mortgage. |

Don't know about what women want in a man, but I can tell ya what I want...
Must have a heart, one capable of giving and receiving love.  Must have a brain that functions properly nearly 96% of the time.  Must have eyes that see me and accept me for who I am.  Must have ears that listen not just to my words, but really hear what I'm saying.  Must have a mouth that both opens and closes when appropriate, and not just for food intake or beer consumption.  Must have a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on, arms to embrace me, and a strong back to lean on when needed.  Must have the anatomical male appendage, preferably one that functions properly nearly 96% of the time.  Finally, they should be fleet of feet so they can run far and fast when I don't get what I want...
