So like 24 days left and I haven't even started I'm usually done by now. Are you done or one of those wait to till the last day shoppers?

It has been thirty years since I bought anyone a Christmas gift. The whole obligatory occasion gifting tradition seems extremely silly to me. When I want someone to have something, I give it to them without consulting a calendar.
Half the US population went shopping since Thanksgiving and spent 57 BILLION dollars (much probably borrowed or "��charged"��). Perhaps they have lost sight of what they are celebrating? |

This year I started late and had to cut me expenses all the way around but I did get something for my immediate family and a few friends so far..... I guess I am 1/2 way done.

I probably shouldn't admit this but my mum does my christmas shopping for me. Well, she uses my credit card to buy herself a present and the rest of my family always just want money. They will tend to give me something that has about the same value as the cash that I give them, so I'm basically just buying christmas presents off them. It's not a bad arrangement really.
As far as friends go, I've only really got one close friend and I got nothing apart from her company on my birthday, so I'm not getting her a christmas present and I've already picked out a gift that I'm not going to give her on her birthday. |

struggling has made us change how we do Christmas
we have gotten back to making it about Christ, we only have one child in the family so she gets gifts IF her father sends her something by Christmas,,,but otherwise its family time , enjoying a feat together, conversation, games,,,etc,,,, we do a gift exchange in January though, when people have something to spend,,,,but we pick names and shop for just that person |

I have started but that is it so far.... got one grand son bought for and a couple of other gifts I just buy for them as I have the money....

I think things are tight for everyone this year I just want to try and make it special if I can for my grand kid because my son lost his job

Ordering them as soon as possible will raise the chance of them arriving before Christmas rather than after. Most sites have different forms of shipping to arrive sooner for a small fee.

Getting tired of the whole holidays things.
Seems like more than not I am an ATM with hair because the family is so scattered. The charities seem to only want money and throw more of the money around for administration and program furnishings than actual direct services. I am loosing patience with people who actually tap everyone else for "gifts" when really it is just a fee like an additional paycheck for what I have already over paid for. More inclined to gift those people directly in my day to day life that actually show up and reciprocate my efforts. lol Bah Humbug! |

Ordering them as soon as possible will raise the chance of them arriving before Christmas rather than after. Most sites have different forms of shipping to arrive sooner for a small fee. I do a little of both, online and in stores. There is something fun about being out & about in the stores soaking up some Christmas spirit (and some Christmas Spirits..lol :)  )

Ya the online is smart I did that last year to late now. I do try too to get something small also for the ones in my everyday life also.
