Who cares at this point?
Obama sure doesn't.
He doesn't give a damn if the whole world falls into chaos just as long as his precious pipe dreams of fairies, rainbows, and unicorns, doesn't get shattered.

What I think is more interesting and telling is the look of disgust on Michelle face...it kind of reminded me of the way Hillary looked when Bill was outed during the scandals with Monica Lewinski and the affair with Gennifer Flowers.

It's an "I can believe this idiot is embarrassing me like this!!" kind of look. laugh

neither really, I remember a similar photo controversy with the SMih family allegedly being shocked during the Miley Cyrus performance t the AMAs

turns out the reaction on film was actually caught during DIFFERENT PERFORMANCE at a DIFFERENT TIME for a DIFFERENT REASON

this photo shows some woman taking a photo with the president and someone else while seated,, in wider shots other people are also smiling and laughing amongst each other and all the seats aren't filled

IM guessing this probably wasn't 'during' the memorial at all,, but either before its start or after its end,,,,

As pretty as she may be in physical appearance, the contempt this woman feels for everyone (because she feels everyone is beneath her), never fails to show thru. Even as she wears $20,000 gowns paid for by taxpayers (I agree, not uncommon, but still...) and takes million dollar vacations and shopping sprees (often) on Americas dime, her contempt for the "common" people, and America, never fails to show thru.

I don't think her look of contempt was because of the photo, but rather because she had to attend a function honoring someone other than herself.

Too bad the administration couldn't shut out press photographers from this event and only release edited pictures taken by the White House photographer the way they do with other events. See what can happen when things aren't staged, scripted and edited. laugh

I don't see anything horrible about that photo or think it's a big deal in and of itself. However I do think the attention an unscripted moment like this is getting may prove to make this administration even less transparent....if that's at all possible.

I think shaking Raul Castro hand may prove to be more troublesome for him, especially among Cuban Americans and other legal immigrants from oppressive countries.

I think you may be right, the Cuban/Nationals have already started complaining. I wonder though if Obama even knew to whom he was shaking hands.

so was the story about will smith and his family being in shock during the Miley performance,,,

like I said, Id be willing to bet that this was not a photo actually taken 'during' any type of presentation , but before or after one,,,,

The question was "foolish or disgraceful?". I think the answer is both.

Some people just have no class.

I don't think this was a case that proved OBama doesn't though.

From the photographer who took the STILL photo (no video is available to show the full context of the moment, to my knowledge)

: "All around me in the stadium, South Africans were dancing, singing and laughing to honor their departed leader. It was more like a carnival atmosphere, not at all morbid. The ceremony had already gone on for two hours and would last another two. The atmosphere was totally relaxed -- I didn't see anything shocking in my viewfinder, president of the U.S. or not."

a selfie during a mournful funeral,,, tacky
a selfie during a CELEBREATION OF LIFE,,, not at all tacky or classless

It actually was news. There are also those who love him so much they will defend him regardless of his actions.

I doubt if the OP hates him.

It WOULD be newsworthy if it was a head of state acting disrespectfully during a somber event

however, this was not a somber event, and therefore there was no disrespect involved

Regardless of his actions? It's a picture! Definitely not something to get upset over.
