I was in the store the other day looking to buy a new TV series to buy and watch. I never watch them on TV, I hate commercials and cliffhangers so I always wait for them to come out on DVD. I was looking for a good police procedural (which I thought this was( but I couldn't have been more wrong and more pleased. It is an amazing show. It is more of a thriller\mystery\cop show.
Basically a notorious serial killer escapes from prison and the FBI brings back out of retirement the profiler (played by Kevin Bacon) who caught him over ten years ago. While he was in prison he has set up a cult of over 100 followers and fellow serial killers from all walks of life that do his bidding on everything without question. I sat down to watch it and I ended up watching the entire season in one day, I totally recommend it to anyone who likes a good TV show with a lot of unexpected twists. |

Anytime American Idol is not on FOX prime time, I'm a happy camper. Yikes, you watch American Idol over The Following? lol. It just sucks because they only have thirteen or fourteen episodes each season unlike the other networks who's shows run between wenty and twenty eight episodes per season. You can also get the first season on DVD. I got mine at Wal-Mart and I paid I think like $12.99, which isn't bad for a full season. |

It just sucks because they only have thirteen or fourteen episodes each season unlike the other networks who's shows run between wenty and twenty eight episodes per season. I watch is too, didn't know the second season had started. I'll DL that :) I don't wait for series to come out on Dutch telly, sometimes takes years. And I don't like having to wait a week for a new ep to come out. So I prefer to wait a bit, so I can DL several / lots of eps in one go and spend a few weeks watching them in the evenings.
For instance Supernatural, I started DL that when the series was in its 6th season. So I could DL 6 seasons, wonderful! I don't buy, don't intend to ever do so either, too expensive and I wouldn't watch a series a second time. Downloading is legal here (uploading isn't). I like the Following, although it's not my most fave series. I prefer the Blacklist, Reign, Walking Dead, Person of Interest. |

I wonder if they are writing Joe off to replace him with that crazy mama chick,,,,?? I hope not, I'm loving the twist in his characters intelligence and loyalty , and his bloodthirsty insanity I don't think there should be anyone who can out crazy him or out smart him at the crazy game |

I hope not, I'm loving the twist in his characters intelligence and loyalty , and his bloodthirsty insanity I don't think there should be anyone who can out crazy him or out smart him at the crazy game I still see Mark Antony (Rome) when I see James Purefoy. Love how he does the Joe character too! I had the luxury of watching 6 episodes without having to wait a week, as I was unaware the series had started again. Love it when you can watch more episodes in one go, so you really get into the story. |

I am sorry, I did misread the post, my bad. This season started off amazing and it seems to be going down hill with the whole Cult of Micah then the second plot line with the billionaire serial killers and her family. They should have just kept her with Joe. I am guessing they are setting it up for the third season, since this season is almost over and the show just got renewed for a third season and I doubt they will kill off Joe. |

He wasn't meant to come back for season two but the network got a lot of letters. They will probably just kill off Lily and her family and make next season all about Joe, but you never know with these network shows and how much the actors want. I think Hardy, Weston, Joe and Emma make the show, and getting ready of any of them would hurt the show. I like how they are bringing Ryan's love back into the show, Claire but now he's seeing the nice reporter girl. I cant wait until Monday to see how that plays out! |

Ryan see's Claire for the first time since he was told she was dead, on tonight's episode! I bet there will be some tension between Ryan and Weston for Weston not telling Ryan about Claire in witness protection.

Philosophically I have the same problem with it that I do another show I very much enjoyed for its sheer entertainment value, the Dexter series. Terrific entertainment fiction, but has the bad product of reinforcing very unhealthy popular perceptions of clinical disorders. The "psychopath" and the "cult follower" are social constructs readily used for the personal agendas of poorly qualified political salesmen. Hypnotists and genetic criminal aberrations simply don't exist, they're the exact equivalent of claiming an alien invasion is among us "good humans". Infantile and counterproductive to any social welfare system. No ethical media producer would promote it, good art is to educate and entertain, not lie and misdirect public opinion through entertainment. That's how stupid laws are backed by public representation and good ones dismissed. |

They have to ad artistic license to them to give it more entertainment value. Audiences like hearing about cults, they are intriguing as well as Psychopaths, Serial Killers. Sometimes the terminology makes a goo part of the show. It's not like they are writing a documentary. |

Ive been meaning to look into this one. I will do so! thanks for the recommend sir! The best way to do it is Netflix it if it's available, if you don't have Netflix I think I paid like $15 for season 1 at Wal-Mart, the downside is it's only like 14 episodes, but they are intense I couldn't stop watching, I ended up watching them all in one sitting. |
