I respond to all that leave me a msg, but it all depends on what
the guy says, if all he has to say is something about sex and if i am not with that kind of conversation then he will be ignored. I know of two sites that are for dating, one is okcupid where i met my boyfriend or plentyoffish they are both free but you must take a test in order to be matched properly, good luck it worked for me and my friend is marrying a man she met on okcupid.

I find that is true for most places, there are great and NOT so great people all over....

Not true; I respond to every message I've received. Some of you guys from other STATES don't respond when a lady leaves you a message.

I have absolutely no idea what this guy was talking about. I have found my lady from New York and could not be happier. I am not sure, but I don't think my lady even has the ability to be rude.

I am a New Yorker as in i am from the great state itself.... Even though i now live in fla i still consider myself a NYer and always will.. I am still the same person i was when i left just older and wiser ,,,,,

Yet to meet anyone rude; New York or other wise. Again, There is so many people and so much diversity, that a statement such as "NYers are rude," or "Women can't drive," are all more reflective of who you are more than anything else. Maybe that's what needs to be addressed?

Yeah - maybe the problem with the question was two-fold. First - why limit it to women? Second - maybe rude is the wrong word -- maybe it's frank or direct.

I must say though - New York seems to have a pride like no other city. For some people, that can lead to statements that sound pretentious or holy-er than thou or simply always ring of 'this or that is better'. Not to generalize but that's a logical flow for a person of low self-esteem.

Combine that with the size of New York and the difficulty to be a big fish in such a big pond, anorexic women, materialistic fashion consciousness in certain circles, etc... and maybe one can consider it more likely to find this anomaly in NYC (although still not typical).

ps: i'm wondering how easy it'll be to insert foot in mouth w/ a slander of this post. but i'm looking forward to hearing a little devil's advocacy.

Well, I'm a NY woman, and I know I'm not rude. When someone emails me, I respond. And it's not true that it's hard to find women from NY to meet and date. It may take a while, but if you're patient it will happen. A friend of mine who is from NY is going to have a have a very good chance with a woman on here from NY. That's if he's as sincere with her in person as he is on here and over the phone, lol. Perfect proof, guys and gals, not to give up. It's out there, you just have to want it bad enough.
