Fed up with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holders arrogance, a Republican congressman sponsored a bill to hit him where it hurts in the wallet.

The measure, introduced Thursday by U.S. Rep. Blake Farenthold, R-Texas, would withhold salary payments to federal officials who are in contempt of Congress.

The American people should not be footing the bill for federal employees who stonewall Congress or rewarding government officials bad behavior, Farenthold said in unveiling the bill, according to The Hill. If the average American failed to do his or her job, he or she would hardly be rewarded.

Holder, who was held in contempt of Congress in 2012 for failing to produce documents in the Fast and Furious gun-running case, has exacerbated his relationship with congressional leaders by hindering progress on numerous other investigations.

Not only should he be held in contempt and have his pay held, he should be held in jail as well!

Won't happen. The legislative branch is the peoples govt.. This admin (the executive) and its courts (the judicial) are doing everything to bypass them!

Funny how Obozo threatens the court and they cave. Did the NSA give him something on them?

I read about this yesterday and I think it's a good idea. In this era of transparency the Obama administration could be more transparent, more responsible (like reading legislation before signing it OR even obtaining the pulse of the public with referenda). If even half of what was printed about Holder is true, I think he was rightly held in contempt and is therefore not serving the public interest. Certainly if I refused to provide business information or divulge work related events to my employer I doubt I'd be there long....

the major difference being I DO NOT have an obligation to voters as HOlder does. That makes his contempt ...well.....contemptible I guess noway

Quick reminder to the setters on the Hill: Thine job is to serve the public interest...not thine own wallet.

What a source, but just how stupid can congress get? Belay that, actually it's not congress, they have figured out just how stupid the people are and play on that magnificently. The pulse of the people, pretend to try and pass a law and everything will be ok.

First, congress already has that right, it's called impeachment. The house draws up articles of impeachment and the Senate must try. So then it comes down to just how does the Senate dodge this one. I mean playing with cigars in the oval office is one thing, but contempt of their branch, I would love to hear this one.

But don't worry, it won't happen and neither will the bill. They are all in this little show together, you know the show where they show the masses how they can do what ever they want and not only get called on it, but even get reelected.

Just what does that say for the American public, not much.

Wasn't Odumbo, it was his owners. They own the whole federal court system and almost all the state courts. They have been using the Chamber of Commerce to discredit any honest judge and spend plenty on the election campaigns of their paid puppets. Just look at what happened in Mississippi.

Obama would just pay him anyway. All laws are optional.

Plenty of Money in the Black Budget, more than enough to pay errant "Civil-Servants" who get their Pay docked by Congress!
