To be honest I don't think a lot of them actually do know what they want. Many seem very lost hence singing up to a date site usually as a last resort for many.

Have compassion for those lost causes, the poor little dears just want some attention..... awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww sad2

Many when they get those e-mails and they are half their age and do not have a picture of themselves gives one no reason to respond.

Ohh or can not read what they prefer prior to e-mailing them...

Or they send a statement and and nothing that gives a need to respond to...

Humm think that covered a few more answers....

There are a few more those that seem needy are those I stay far away from... whoa

If more would e-mail getting into a normal conversation with someone they would get much farther. And give the women something to respond to. whoa

Kristi has it right!! and guys who can communicate.. not just say "hi" every time they email. or how are you? there are very few that can even have a conversation in a email. It doesn't even take intelligence to start a conversation I don't think that is too much to expect to get to know someone. after two of these emails of above I don't bother to respond back.

That is not true... I don't want or need that kind of compassion nor am I a lost cause. I work and I'm a student, so my time is limited. what I do want is a man that can communicate with me. That can actually spell and construct sentences that make sense. I'm far from perfect, but simple communication goes a long way.

I'm very happy with my life.. I just want someone to share ideas, share time with someone that loves to laugh and have fun. I'm far from desperate, I'm not lonely.

Jeez.. Think about what you are implying. Why are you here?? Hmmm I sound mean but I had to put my 2 cents in. Please do not lump all of the women on here in one group, that is not fair. It would be like me saying that all of the men on here are scammers.

 spock

In all honesty though, if the first message is filled with questions, can that not be overwhelming for you ladies?

I'm a very open minded guy, and can easily strike up conversations, but they always have to start with a simple Hello at the very least. Then followed up with some sort of topic of conversation which ebs and flows both ways.

What's happened to me in the past when I've struck up a conversation on other sites and chat rooms is this:

Me - Hey, hows things?
Them - Fine.
Me - Cool... so... what music do you like?
Them - Rock
Me - Yeah I like-type music myself. Currently been listening to Paramore. They are quite good.
Them - (no response)
Me - (wonder if I'll ever get some sort of reply...)
Me - What sort of films you like?
And so on, until I shrug and come to a conclusion to move on.

I do find it frustrating when you try to strike up some conversation, only to get one word answers. Or no real questions back.

I think that is great!!! only your first email should say a little more like why did you email them? but your second one was great left an opening for some sort of conversation!! these are the kind of emails we gals are talking about.. but you have the reverse problem... and to add to this.. your example as well it shows the person has no interest to get to know you. you can only go so far with emails like this..

Mike you have the right idea. Conversation means a lot. But make sure one takes a little time to read their profile if they have one stating what they are looking for. If it is close to what you are looking for as well that conversation will go farther.

Don't ask more then two questions within a e-mail. And if you get the response as you stated then move on... Heck I have e-mailed guys and never got a response... It happens... If the attraction is not both ways those that are seriously looking will just move on.

That back and forth isn't a thing that's happened. Its a complete example.

What I'm getting at, is something has to trigger the conversation, and feedback from questions that you pose is something which continues the conversation. No feedback or reply = pushing against a ball up a hill.

The example, yes I said "Paramore" but its just an example of getting either A) no reply at all, meaning what the hell does she like?
B) a good response, or C) even if she despises the band, let the person asking know, suggest something else, and talk about that.

Like I say, its a frustration more than anything else. When you've tried to strike up a lot of conversations with people (male and female), and being a social awkward person anyway, its difficult to start that initial ball rolling. But once I've got that ball rolling, its much easier to become more friendly etc.

Just my humble opinion, nothing more.

Hey sweetheart I wasn't lumping anyone in a pile. I just said a lot of those women, not all ok.

You took it to heart and you seem to feel I was talking about you... I was talking about the women who are like this. If you got offended then you must feel one one level you are one of those women I described in my post or else why would you get offended.

I think some men (notice I said some, and not - a lot) expect some sort of correspondence simply because they send a nudge or a message to a girl.
I also think these same men need to grow up and stop throwing their toys out the pram.
Yes, and before any smart a-s reminds me again that I'm gay, I already know and I really couldn't give a flying f--k what you think.
It seems every time I reply to a topic that concerns men, then I get asked - errr your a dyke, what do you know?

actually...saying that women dont know what they want is the classic reply of a man who has been rejected. it is insulting to say a lot of women dont know what they want. kinda like saying a lot of women are stupid.

You are so right.. I'm far from one of "those women", I just get offended by men that think all women are lonely and are desperate to get married or are looking for companionship. Jeez...
