But, you know without a doubt, Hoosein is anti-racism. His being mulatto was not part of the topic. And, I gave examples of how much he really cares that no person is discriminated against. Not just the negro. Again, I am so looking forward to him speak on his favorite reality show. |

But, you know without a doubt, Hoosein is anti-racism. His being mulatto was not part of the topic. And, I gave examples of how much he really cares that no person is discriminated against. Not just the negro. Again, I am so looking forward to him speak on his favorite reality show. I still have no idea what you are talking about and the examples you gave are meaning less because I have no idea what you are talking about. You are the one who raised Obama's name in concert with racism against whites. that is the context in which I stated he is half white as in he would not support racism against either race. that is the only context I meant. if it's not on topic why did you raise it? |

"When ignorant folks want to advertise their ignorance you don't have to do anything, just let them talk." I've been pondering this statement ever since trying to figure out what he meant. Any ideas? He was referring to the basketball team owner who was talking ignorance about blacks. So true. So do you think he was referring to his general lack of knowledge and preconceived ideas or his small minded bigotry? |

I think it speaks for itself. In the context that Soufie mentioned I would agree that racism is ignorant and thank him for speaking out against it. But speaking out is not enough. There needs to be a firm effort to make sure that neither racism nor reverse racism get a foothold in this country ever again. Unfortunately sweetest racism has never lost its foothold, it just disguises itself in "political correctness." People personally affected by it can see right through the pretense because it's something you can feel as well as see. |

I understood the direct context the president was implying, but the statement itself caught my attention and I reversed my DVR so I could jot down that exact quote and have been contemplating it's deeper meaning than how he surface applied it. My freakish mind works that way, can't help it...
Anyway, first I had to define with my own logic what he meant by the word "ignorance"... and I thought he could be referring to a fundamental "lack of knowledge" or an even deeper meaning... a form of "bigotry" in which feelings are developed and expressed based on the level of knowledge one possesses. But the president also said, "advertise their ignorance" which threw me, because the coach was one person having a private conversation and probably didn't know he was being recorded so his personal stance could be disclosed publicly. Which started my wheels turning that the president was generalizing, and I wanted to get to the meatier aspects of his terminology. So overall, and in context, was he lauding the secret recording by saying "you don't have to do anything other than let them talk... (meaning of "do anything"... like instigate the conversation to entrap)? Do you get where I'm coming from? P.S. It's like he was saying... If you know people have issues or agendas you can stand quietly by and listen to what they're saying to profile them. Much like the NSA has been doing to most of us Americans so they'll know the lovers and the haters. Because... 1) Most people don't curb their tongue especially when they're passionate about something. 2) Most people don't think what they're saying can or might be used against them if everybody's on board. Needless to say, the president really got me thinking on this subject. |
