He was playing with his toy soldiers in the sandbox at the time?

I'm sure his context made sense to him at the time but they're chalk and cheese.

Aspirations to build the empire I suppose.
More like Napoleon at this point I think.

No, that position already taken by Odumbo. But the Unprincely Charles, how can anyone take that man seriously, his mother don't. He is just a spoiled little brat that has never grown up. The only one that has had any sense around him was Diana, she left him.

But Putin, I would relate him more to Churchill, a man with big brass ones that isn't afraid to say and stand for what he believes.

We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.
-Winston Churchill

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.
-Winston Churchill

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.
-Winston Churchill

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
-Winston Churchill

And of course the quoting of Churchill can never be complete without that infamous remark to the unLady Astor:

I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.
-Winston Churchill

Well at last we agree on something.

Socialism is a great thing, until you run out of other peoples money to spend

Charlie lost one fine piece of tail over a double-bagger hound dog.

I wouldn't trust his judgment on a coin flip.

PS
Ms Diana was a wonderful, likeable and very generous lady.

Chuck has to be some sort of joto.

And England is fast approaching that goal. The EU in general is not far behind and the US is only in the rear because of the petro dollar. But the big explosion is not far away, smoke and mirrors cannot last forever.

Yep, and that is why mama and queen mama is never going to allow him near the crown, his only crown is the dunce cap.

Oh yes. Phil the Greek as we call him.
He has said some classics.

To a female sea cadet: do you work in a strip club.

To a Scottish driving instructer: how do you keep the natives of the booze long enough to pass the test.

To a black politician: and what exotic part of the world do you come from.

To a British student in China: if you stay here much longer you'll go home with slitty eyes.

Just a few of his many.

What Napoleonic complex, that was your assessment, not mine. I likened him more to Churchill. All I wonder is when, like Churchill, he will be discarded upon the dust heap.

Again, your assessment on the Napoleonic complex.

And what does Odumbo have to do with Putin? Putin is Russia's problem, we have enough of our own.

But I do find it amusing that one associates the acts within a narrow boundary of some perceived concept of the truth, not the concept of the act itself.

But I've come to realize that the biggest problem anywhere in the world is that people's perception of reality are compulsively filtered through the screening mesh of what they want, and do not want, to be true.

And while it is universally recognized, I'd say by even Putin himself, that Putin is no angel, his actions of late has been more on the moral side than that of the US or EU.

But to just totally ignore the truth of the matter is a conscious choice to remain ignorant of the facts. And to blindly believe what government and the government owned mass media tries to force feed the populace is a conscious choice to remain ignorant.

So while Putin is but another psychopathic statist and far from my hero in general, I do have to say on the matters of Syria, Iran, and Ukraine, I am thankful for his intervention. I also must admire his restraint, that while standing his ground, he has committed his powers to defense and not violence.

But then, you will agree with none of it, standing on the concept of not wanting to know because the messenger is perceived as evil.
