Nascar is right. Everyone can see your profile. The search limit has to do with who you are searching for.
You could also add a limit on people who could email you: only from a few miles away from you: that should be local. It will avoid emails from overseas or anywhere else other than local. And you have all that done. And welcome. |

I dont want any form of contact from people outside my maximum search area though. Can people on here just not read?? Do they just go by the pictures. Why do I bother with these sites. I have only recently joined here and am beginning to wonder if as with all the others I am flogging a dead horse. Wasting my time

Well, just like you people will do whatever they want. Maybe some people can't read, but most likely they disregard what you wrote because of what they want. Most people do by the photos and react accordingly. I cannot answer the other three queries you posted.
However, by your writing, I can tell you are tired of looking and frustrated with people who will not follow your requests. If you do feel you are wasting your time, why are you in any online site? Do you have pictures on your profile for those people who can't read? It might help. You could make some with a line through it like the no smoking signs. You don't have to be an Aquarius to be creative.

Some will not take the time to read profiles, some will attempt to contact you because you asked them not to. My suggestion...before opening up the emails...click on their username, see where they are from...if they are out of your area, just delete. There is no rule saying you have to read nor reply to any of the emails you receive. If I may offer a friendly suggestion...you may want to revamp your profile...it's very negative sounding...IMO. You have only been on this site for one day...finding your Mr. Right won't happen overnight. Give it time, get to know people...get involved in the forums. Just saying...  Good luck!
