Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Would it be a shock, by some wierd coincidence, a death bed confession came out that she made up the rape story?

msharmony's photo
Thu 05/29/14 03:35 PM
why?

some eighty years ago, any lie she may have told as a child, was a childs lie,,, who cares?

and yes, it would be a shock, since she would hold no criminal liability as a child, and had nothing to lose by telling the truth as a 12 year old after a four year silence,,,since she has admitted to other 'sordid' things as a young adult like running prostitutes,,

if she felt the need to withhold a childs lie for seven decades,,, whoa

It would only mean her voice really did kill an innocent man.

That's all. Like Hitlary said. What does it matter?

To liberals innocent lives hold no value.

her voice didn't kill anyone,, no one killed the man that assaulted me and I testified against him in court

another human took that mans life,, their choice of reaction ,, not the childs,,,

This topic could have been put in well wishes.

Here, it's free to debate and suppose.

No disrespect to you or her.

If she lied and he died as a result, she will face her maker and be judged accordingly.

As will we all.

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Few would challenge her gift, but as a matter of topic placed in this forum ANY opinion of her character or past is fodder for debate.

Willing .. Clearly this thread is intended to pay respect to a woman who has died. You are entitled to your opinion but as opinions Were not asked for perhaps silence is a better option. If you feel strongly you could start another thread. She is not here to defend herself and debate born of assumptions is futile . No disrespect to you.

........ RIP maya

Imagine a life without challenge, objection, critique or question....

We can't all be automatons, the same, everyone a winner, without sin or failure.... or life would just not be worth living....

But common core is trying......

I didn't know being tacky was a virtue of those who are just not being 'automations' , a life without manners and etiquette would be Just as horrid as a life as automtions

its a tacky thing to do, go to a thread of remembrance and use it to make character attacks of both a CHILD and a senior citizen from out of left field,,,,challenge or not

maybe aknowledging something like 'tact' is probably not as welcome as baseless allegatins against a dead person,,,

Where did I accuse or attack her?

I made a valid assessment on what may have happened.

Her own admission of feeling guilt might have been a deeper truth.

Whatever happened to her family members who killed the man?

Perhaps if it was posted to a different forum your thread might have gotten something other than debate......

Tacky is refusing to acknowledge the rights of others to their own opinion different from your own, then insulting their character for that opinion when you opened the topic for debate
