First impressions are important. They can either make or break the start of any relationship.

Sorry that got posted before I was even done. So let me try this again. I am still getting use to this laptop.
First impressions are important. They can either make or break the start of any relationship. It is always good to be yourself, but at the same time you are nervous as you are not sure what the other person is like. So there is always some sort of tension. What makes a good first impression for you? |

Yes first impressions are important ill agree with that..
you cant make a first impression twice.. and yes i will also agree that a first impression CAN make or break a relationship. I personally just try to be myself ad relax.. and usually every is ok. |

I agree, just be yourself. If you're nervous, a good man/woman should understand, its a first date, for pete's sake. Most people are nervous. Just be yourself and your true personality will overcome the nervousness.

I agree with being yourself...
I try not to judge people on first impressions. Might be missing out on something good if we form an opinon too soon. Yet I have met some that just don't click and never would. Sometimes we are so nervouse- that we can act stupid.(me  ) I will give a person some time. |

Two trains of thought here:
1-You never get a second chance to make a good first impression. 2-The only thing first impressions are is that. First impressions. Which do you believe? I'll take #2. I've mer several people in my life that I couldn't stand at first. But I gave them time, and they grew on me. I've also met people who made a great 1st impression on me, only to reveal their darker side a little later. |

You are right it is very important to be yourself. Because true colors only ever come out in the end.

Well I try not to make a judgement on one meeting, but some of the things that I notice on a meet and greet date is 1) how often is she on her cell phone. 2) how positive or negative her conversation is 3) how punctional she is 4) how accomodating she is compared with how accomodatin she expects me to be. I had a woman out of the blue invite me to lunch on the other side of a large metro area, and then tell me not to make her wait. I dont call her anymore

I don't always agree on first impressions.....sometimes Im wrong about people....not very often but sometimes.
Alot of people are very nervous when meeting for the first time...I try to give people a second chance unless they are a complete azzzzzzzzzz the first time!!!
