Any computer savvy peeps out, there that can tell me a good VIRUS FREE program, that I can use to make transparent backgrounds, on images.
Ive tried it in Windows 7 paint, and its just not happening. I tried to download Paint.net, and my Avast keeps telling me its a virus?? Im making a logo for a band and need this technology. Thanks!

Try this Site! Been using it for years,and it definitely doesn't carry anything containing a Virus! It offers the Program you have mentioned as well! Can't imagine that the Washington State University/MICROSOFT would create a Virus! http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/gmm/fwgraphicedit.html |

Try this Site! Been using it for years,and it definitely doesn't carry anything containing a Virus! It offers the Program you have mentioned as well! Can't imagine that the Washington State University/MICROSOFT would create a Virus! http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/gmm/fwgraphicedit.html but which one? There are several listed at that link? Im guessing any one is good?

I use the FREE http://www.irfanview.com which pops
up an edit section whenever you need to transparentify a background for an image:-) |

now,that's the 64-Dollar-Question. 
The Site does have alot of all sorts of Freeware-Programs besides the ones I have linked to!I haven't bought any Software for years! Why should I with all that Freeware around?

Actually they have gimp there which should allow you to raster files and set up Transparent Background then you can work in Layer and drop a Person in or duplicate and trat one layer with more Manipulation on top and the reset to a Low opacity so that the Lower layer shows thru and use it for Blending also gimp has a lot of available plugins for free
