Topic: chat requests at the bottom of the page...

I'm trying to figure out what to do about the damn chat requests at the bottom of the page. If I check it out, and decide not to respond, then "x" out of the chat, WHY does it keep popping back up, many times interfering with something else I'm checking out??? Right now I have 5 at the bottom of the page, and I've x'd out of all, but they KEEP COMING BACK!!! ugg

Have you tried blocking them on IM? I suppose it is possible that they all keep messaging you after you have closed them.. http://mingle2.com/welcome/faq_message "If you have an open IM window with the member in question, you can block in that window. There will be a button of a circle with a line through it (i.e., the "no" symbol) at the upper right of the IM window which says "block", if you mouse over it." (I must say, I am unsure this is updated since the new system was installed.)

I'll try blocking instead of x-ing out and see what happens.

No, I'm thinking these are old requests...?? Yes some of the old chat requests popup after they days have passed: it's happened to me more than once. If u do not want anything to do with the chat invite, u have to block them. If u think u maybe interested, answer the chat... I'm sure they'll be glad, even days later. It is sorta weird lately. Try to have only one window of mingle2 open at the time when u close the chat box.

Well, I just blocked all 5, and within half a minute, they all reappeared.

just go to your account setting and turn off instant messaging. :)

just go to your account setting and turn off instant messaging. :) That's another way of going about it... but I think Lady wants to be able to use the chat, not shut it off completely.
