I'm wondering... will a woman become the president of the US. What's your take on this?

I agree with msharmony; it's inevitable.

However, it may very well take an Act of Congress to allow a female to take the office of the Presidency, as - as written - our Constitution's Article II ("Executive Powers") specifically states our Presidents will be "he"s and clearly dictates what "his" duties will be.

There will be a *sharp* lawyer somewhere who will at least try to file a lawsuit deeming a female POTUS is unconstitutional; as written, that attorney will have some legs to stand on.

My heart goes out to that *lucky* woman who receives the designation of being the U.S.' first female President. What we've done to our current Mr. POTUS "while NOT being racist" will be child's play compared to what we'll do to THAT Ms. POTUS "while NOT being sexist", regardless of which party it is from which she arises.

Why couldn't the next President, elected in November 2016 (2 years from now), be a woman? If not then, why not in 2024 (assuming the next POTUS - who's male - is re-elected)...that's only 10 years and 2 presidencies away?


Granted, in the lifespan of a gnat, 10 years IS an eternity...but in the history of a *great* nation, it's simply the flickering of a light bulb...and look at how outdated and outmoded they're becoming.

If there is a strong female presidential candidate by 2016,,, I mean a candidate with out a river! US may have their first female president by 2016.
