Topic: And they wear the label "Protect and Serve" | |

In America, fear is growing that the police are getting out of control Barely a week goes past without a terrible incident, and too often the police officer is white and the other people involved are black. http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/2014/10/america-fear-growing-police-are-getting-out-control It's an agenda to control EVERYONE! Sadly, black Americans are of the greatest majority if you talk about systemic problems with poverty and the hardships it imposes. Every culture has its problems. Some within a culture bring it on themselves as a few posts here have shown.... such as the post on black kids calling others out as Uncle Toms (or trying to be white) when they study and strive for an education. But it is by no means only a black problem! Sadly, our statesmen are focused more on what's good for themselves, corporations and banks, creating hardships on the nations poor, of any gender or race, thru legislative policy, taking the "campaign contributions" from lobbyists for their votes..... while proclaiming to care. |

This isn't exactly a new issue. It's been going on for several decades. . What people need to keep in mind, is that there are good and bad people in every occupation. . ... And, it only takes one or two a**holes to make an entire department look bad. |

This isn't exactly a new issue. It's been going on for several decades. . What people need to keep in mind, is that there are good and bad people in every occupation. . ... And, it only takes one or two a**holes to make an entire department look bad. While I wouldn't argue with the concept, I would argue against the details. Yes it has been transgressing for decades but it has only been the last one that is the causation of a total transformation. First there was the transformation of the "peace officer" to the "police office", a transformation that forgot the "peace" and instilled the revenue aspects of arrest, detention, fines and fees. But in the past six years during the rein of "El Odumbo", matters have really come to a head. Not that it is just Odumbo that is to blame, after all he had the masters, Slick Willie and Dubya to help and set the stage. But still it is the current administration that has transformed the police into a real paramilitary organization. And this is way beyond a couple of a-holes as members of a department, it is more like the whole department that shuns the "peace officers" and instills a sense of authority in those that really have none. It is the policy of the current administration to outfit the police as para-military units and provide excess and not so excess military hardware. But the real sad part of that equation is not just the use of that hardware but the ignorant public cheering it's use even as their rights are being trampled. Reminds me of a tale of people being led to mass genocide as they sat idly by until it was too late. It has nothing to do with making the department look bad, they are bad and need to be curtailed. It is time for the people to stand and hold individuals responsible for their actions, from the bottom all the way to the top. Only then will we put "peace" instead of police back into those that serve and protect. Oh, by the way, it has been determined by those mystical being in black robes that "their's" is not to serve or protect. |

It seems that after 9-11 police departments were empowered a bit more. And given surplus military equipment to help fight terrorism at the local level. The concept seemed to sound good at the time.
But I feel that the police ( not all, but many) have now become militarized and are in fact ill equipped ( mentally ) for military type operations, but they now have the resources and auth. do "mimic" military type operations. I base this on my own town of ( 60,000 people) middle class bedroom community. Normal crime for a town of this size. But our police department has now reverted to dressing in all black, including face masks ( although we all know who they are.. there the cop that lives down the street or around the corner). to do drug and other searches of homes. Each visit is a door or window break thru. then " bull rush" inside.. guns out.. many times police dogs are unleashed at the same time...( actually witnessed this while in my car that was stopped due to the police roadblock. I am all for getting drugs off the street, it is the tactics and mindset that concern me. For instance, my local newspaper just listed military items each town has received from the Government military surplus ( post 9-11). My town received (amongst other things) 2 grenade launchers??? 2 grenade launchers for a town with a low crime rate and a population of only 60k.. Don't we have a Military to launch grenades when they need launching.. or at the very least, maybe just the state police.. but not local town police. that is what scares me.. that should scare everyone. |

Sleeping 7-Year-Old Girl Shot in Head During No-Knock Police Raid on Wrong Home DETROIT, MI - A Special Response Team shattered a family's window in the middle of the night, hurled a flashbang onto a couch next to a sleeping girl, then charged in and shot her in the head. The hyper-aggressive tactics were made worse by the fact that police had taken it upon themselves to raid both sides of a duplex, when their suspect was only known to reside in one of them. http://www.lewrockwell.com/2014/10/no_author/just-another-day-in-law-enforcement/ |

the question is,Serve and Protect WHOM!
<<<<<<<<< Since there is no such entity as the public, since the public is merely a number of individuals, any claimed or implied conflict of the public interest with private interests means that the interests of some men are to be sacrificed to the interests and wishes of others. Since the concept is so conveniently undefinable, its use rests only on any given gang's ability to proclaim that .The public, "c'est moi",and to maintain the claim at the point of a gun. The Virtue of Selfishness The Monument Builders http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/public_interest,_the.html so,"The Public" definitely ain't you! ![]() |
