The tiny house movement seems to be gaining popularity. They do seem to have a certain charm. Could/would you live in one of these little spaces?

I read about this awhile back. People are doing this to prove a point that less is better.. that it can be done.

But who really cares if it can be done.Who wants to be " shoe horned) into their house every night.

Not I

Well...millennia ago when we lived in (& some isolated tribal humans in other parts of the world still do)caves, huts & simple 3 sided shelters, we had less personal space than what's in these tiny homes. We also had way less possessions AND most of our activity was outside our "shelter", it was just a place to sleep away from threat of animals & bad weather.

If you ask the current owners of these tiny homes, they will tell you that they too spend a great deal of time outside of their homes.

I think it would be too hard in the winter, ask the people in the wilderness of Alaska: they have to fight cabin fever from December to March, just living in small cabins w/out being able to go out too much. A tiny home also can crimp your social life, if there really is only room for one...well, what would your date think? You're sending a clear message that there is NO space for another person in your life.

I am 6 foot 4.. I do not lend myself well to small spaces..lol.. but that being said... I have always been a fan..
. of using less.... I like the thought of using every square inch of livable space... perhaps that's why I like IKEA so much... they do a bang up job.. Of utilising every usable.. inch of living space....

You would have to be pretty organized.

when they want to come stay for a week.

Sure, I would prefer something the size that I live in now but there where times in my life when I would have lived there and been grateful.I agree with blondey when you love the outdoors home is just a place to sleep.

If they mass produce this for the homeless, it would be great!
