Excellent 70's film about a teen girl trying to survive in a mental institution

"i never promised you a rose garden"
are the movie and the song related?

The movie's based on the 1964 book of the same name, I haven't read it, but it was inspired by the author's experience of when she was a teen.

Don't think the song is related though.

Watched Orphan last night. Wow!!

Psychological thriller. It didn't make me jump though there were only a few times I guessed what was going to happen next (that's usually my specialty) but hadn't worked out the ending at all (but it still made sense when you thought back). Definitely worth the watch.

Good cinematography and interesting use of camera angles gave the film an edge I enjoyed.

Too many movies.... lets see

Brooklyn; beautiful movie about an irish girl who makes a new life for herself in the USA... sweet lovely movie :-)

Danish Girl; based on a true story of the first transgender operation in the 1930's. Pretty good- however not for people who are not comfortable with that topic.

The Forest; Horror film - honestly I love horror flicks but damn - this one wasn't good at all.... put me to sleep!!!

No, the song & the movie (and vice-versa)are not related to one another. I saw the film when it came out back in the 70's,
and I don't remember anything in it having to do with rose gardens.
My guess is that the song, a "one-hit-wonder" for country singer Lynn
Anderson, was so popular that the producers of the film thought it best to keep that title for the film, though the song wasn't used for it.

"The Hateful Eight" - if ya like Quentin Tarantino flicks, yer gonna love it. If yer not a fan of his, then ya won't.
I saw the 70mm version, and it was shown in 2 parts
(like the old "Roadshow" movies were shown, with an overture & intermission - it's just a tad over 3 hours long).
The film's 'R' rating is well deserved - among other things,
it gets pretty violent & gory towards the 2nd half,
but it's so "over the top" that it's funny.
(The movie, itself, is pretty humorous.)

Neither song nor movie have anything to do with an actual rose garden. Has to do with unrealistic expectations, in the case of the movie the lead actress complains to her doctor about her situation, and the doctor responds "I never promised you a rose garden."

The title of the film is from the novel of the same name, which was published decades before the song.

I was going to post the same after seeing it today. I’m disappointed with Disney.

Went with friends to see Avengers: Infinity War... Loved every minute of it, actually...

Left feeling like I needed two bowls of weed and a sixer...
