Austin Petersen

Dear Pacifists and Dictator Lovers: It doesn't matter if Sony is a Japanese company because the terrorist threats were made at theatres here in the United States.

Threatening a terrorist attack is a violation of the non-aggression principle and one that, to me, should be retaliated against with force. Now, I've proposed a free market solution, crowdsourcing the assassination of Kim Jong Un using mercenaries. What do you suggest be done to someone who points a gun at you?

This is why I argue that many people who call themselves libertarians are really just pacifists and that the NAP is a cover for a lack of a willingness to engage in self defense, national or individual. Don't embody the neocon accusation that non-intervention is really and truly isolationism, cowardice, and appeasement.

Ah, Austin Peterson, a confirmed statist of the highest degree. His capping remark would be from the mission statement from his magizine:

"The Libertarian Republic is a free market news magazine featuring the writing of prominent libertarians, conservatives, independents and sometimes democrats."

And it does matter that it is a Japanese company because it a Japanese problem that needs to be resolved by the Japanese government, not these united States.

As to the theaters, who cares, most are unarmed zones that one would be crazy to attend anyway. Did Aurora teach anything? Retract that, of course not, this is the land of the sheeple all lining up for the slaughter. Mutton stew anyone?

As to the rest of his statement, pure bull. What he really wants is:

"The Freedom Report podcast today takes on the news that Sony Pictures and major theatre chains have caved to demands made by hackers and decided not to show the Seth Rogen and James Franco film The Interview. Despite the news that the film would not appear in theatres, footage of the scene which depicts the death of Kim Jong Un appeared online, and sparked a firestorm debate over free speech, liberty and security. It also got us to wondering: when will someone actually kill Kim Jong Un?

Celebrities took to Twitter to complain over the film’s cancellation. Today’s show will read some of these outraged tweets from stars such as Rob Lowe, Jimmy Kimmel, Judd Apatow and Michael Moore. Bill Maher gets credit for the title of this piece, calling America a #PussyNation. Is that the case? Or do theatre owners have to look after their own economic self interest?

Finally, if you have been enjoying the Freedom Report podcast this year, please do us a favor and tip us some Bitcoin on the right side of this site. Or, if you prefer to give Federal Reserve notes, you can donate them here at this link..."

But hey everything is ok, just send some Bitcoin or maybe even some fiat pieces of paper.
Nope,it doesn't matter!
SONY USA was threatened!
Can you comprehend that?

SONY USA,and the USA!
I repeat,just in case,SONY USA and the US,Not SONY JAPAN and Japan!slaphead

So what part of corporate ownership can't you comprehend? Sony is Sony which is Japanese. Just because they set up a foreign corporation here on these shores does not change facts, it's still Sony. And I hope this loss on the film has serious effects on Sony, $100 million. Wonder what it would take for him to go after Microsoft, an actual US corporation.

And the USA wasn't threatened, the USA does all the threatening. I don't feel threatened by North Korea at all and unlike yourself, I live in the US. I am more concerned by all the crap the government has snuck past transparency while all the idiots cry about Sony.

But being you are so concerned, why don't the Swiss demand to be able to show that film there? But that will never happen will it? No where in history has the Swiss ever stood up for anything, prefer to be neutral and profit from both sides.

Just what part do you not comprehend. You may color it any way you desire but that naught changes anything. Sony is Japanese, anything Sony owns is Japanese. I don't care if Sony is carried in the back pocket of Odumbo, it's still Japanese.

Where they have offices are inconsequential, that does not change the ownership. Even the SEC disagrees with you.

"Sony Corporation ("Sony") is a Japanese corporation that was established in 1946 and, through its subsidiaries, operates in numerous locations in the United States and around the world. Sony, by itself and through its subsidiaries, is engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of electronic equipment and the production and sale of motion pictures, music and television programming. Sony's common stock, in the form of American Depositary Receipts ("ADRs"), is registered with the Commission pursuant to Section 12(b) of the Exchange Act and trades principally on the New York Stock Exchange."

"The Issuer stated in its application that it has complied with the rules of PCX by
complying with all applicable laws in effect in Japan, the jurisdiction in which the Issuer is
incorporated and by providing PCX with the required documents governing the withdrawal of
securities from listing and registration on PCX."

Perhaps you should learn comprehension skills or maybe it's the investigative skills that need honing.

I would suggest you get a mirror and repeat that same text. And of course I'm making less and less sense in your little world.

Let's see, again:

"In the settled cease-and-desist order, the Commission found that Sony, a Japanese Corporation whose securities trade on the New York Stock Exchange in the form of American Depositary Receipts, violated the periodic reporting provisions applicable to foreign private issuers in Section 13(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rules 13a-1, 13a-16, and 12b-20 thereunder, and that Sano, who was a director of Sony and the General Manager of its Capital
Market and Investor Relations Division during the relevant period, was a cause of Sony's violations."

So before you go trying to instill some foreign tendencies here, I would suggest you get your facts straight. That instead of pretending to know something, you go to the source and actually learn the truth.

But then the SEC is just another agency of the US government, so what would they know? Perhaps more than you?

I can just imagine the reaction of Americans if a foreign country made a movie depicting the assassination of the President of the United States.

Except for Obama of course.

There is a big difference of course, Obama has received more death threats than any president in American history.

With Obama being the exception, Americans
would go nuts.

Something tells me this is pure crap.

But being you are so concerned, why don't the Swiss demand to be able to show that film there? But that will never happen will it? No where in history has the Swiss ever stood up for anything, prefer to be neutral and profit from both sides.

Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. (SPE) is the American entertainment subsidiary of Japanese multinational technology and media conglomerate Sony. Based in Culver City, California, it encompasses Sony's motion picture, television production and distribution units. Its group sales in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2014 has been reported to be of $8.054 billion.[3][4]

Throughout the years, SPE has produced, distributed, or co-distributed successful franchises such as Spider-Man, Men in Black, Underworld, and Resident Evil.[5]

Sony Pictures Entertainment is a member of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).[6]WIKI

Repeating what wasn't true a while ago doesn't make it true the second time or the third time. So...

1) Sony was, is, and always will be Japanese. It is Sony that got attacked, not the US. In fact, the picture wasn't even part of the problem until toward the end.

2) Saying that somehow North Korea is responsible is of the same ilk, believing the bull that has been spoon fed, which is nothing new for you. There are no conspiracies so let's not examine the theory.

And just who said Kim is pissed off? Was it not yourself that is making that contention?

Kim seems to be happy that Sony, a Japanese Company is getting screwed. And it is your conspiracy theory, one by the way that seems to have leaks, that Kim is pissed about either of your contentions. But he does seem concerned about the US rattling sabers again.

Just because you desire to remain ignorant of what is happening and then trying to instill it as gospel does not mean that I do or will. If you were capable of doing anything other than cursory research, you would discover that there are many chinks in the armor.

But that's right we should always just accept that which our illustrious leader say we must know.

Did North Korea hack Sony? Probably Not

And let's not forget the FBI that first stated North Korea not responsible and now changes direction based on factors of which the South Korea attack code was one. Seems that not all agree:

Dissecting Operation Troy: Cyberespionage in South Korea

"Stealing and holding data hostage and announcing the theft. Public news media have reported only that tens of thousands of computers had their MBRs wiped by the malware. But there is more to this story: The main group behind the attack claims that a vast amount of personal information has been stolen. This type of tactic is consistent with Anonymous operations and others that fall within the hacktivist category, in which they announce and leak portions of confidential information."

So just as your contention that Sony was somehow American, any other contention would be open to question in any prudent mind.

But what difference would it make? It is but a multi-headed monster, hack off one and an even worse one is next. And then when you think it is over, along comes another monster.
