One Of The Most Powerful People In New York Politics Is In FBI Custody The federal complaint against Silver was unsealed Thursday and accuses him of receiving $700,000 in "undisclosed bribes and kickbacks" in exchange for Silver's "power and influence" to benefit real estate developers. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/one-most-powerful-people-york-131401149.html Demoncrap controlled cities like NY, Detroit, Chicago, and many others seem to fill almost as many headlines for corruption as ISIS does for terrorism. It's funny those cities also have the highest crime rates and the most controversial and strict laws denying or limiting Constitutional personal liberties on the books |

A few years ago in my state ( New Jersey) dozens of politicians were arrested in a sting operation. It was a "pay to play" sting, where undercover law enforcement agents acted as corrupt developers looking for favorable zoned laws and rubber stamp passage of development rights
All in all at least 20 were taken down ,statewide. To include 3 or 4 rabbi's who were selling human organs to the highest bidder and laundering money thru their synagogues. ( that was a side bar thing that popped up during the year long investigation). They would pay some poor person in Central America $5K for a kidney.. then sell it to a person who needed it for $100K in N.Y.C One of the elected officials of my town was also arrested in this pay to play sting. They have him on tape, as he was taking the envelope of money, stating " don't worry,I can smell a cop a mile away".. the guy he was taking the envelope from... was a undercover Cop Lol.. Guess his sense of smell was not as good as he thought it was |

Sheldon Silver surrenders on corruption charges "For many years, New Yorkers have asked the question, 'How could Speaker Silver — one of the most powerful men in all of New York — earn millions of dollars in outside income without deeply compromising his ability to honestly serve his constituents?' Today we provide the answer: He didn't," Bharara said. He said federal authorities' corruption work is continuing, and the public "should stay tuned." In Albany, the Assembly's Democratic majority scrapped plans to go into session, but held a brief news conference in which members said Silver would remain their leader. http://www.timesunion.com/news/article/New-York-Times-Speaker-Sheldon-Silver-faces-6032195.php Just goes to show the Dems don't learn from mistakes. There's always some other sucker to blame them on |

For the most part all of the officials in the Jersey thing were white.. they get to a point where they think they are "untouchable".. they all stated (thru their lawyers) that they were innocent and look forward to their day in court.. they all eventually pleaded guilty.. because they were guilty and did their short time in a "club Fed" prison. friggin disgrace |
