Personally, I love walks.. Sometimes, it is nice to relax and slow down. I started taking walks when I was younger as a form of meditation. Sharing my thoughts made me uncomfortable, as if I would be vulnerable if I let anybody in. I would walk for hours at times to clear my head, stopping to watch the sunset if I got the chance. While I still enjoy going on walks alone, I have discovered that spending time with one or two close friends and sharing stories is equally enjoyable.

Walking, alone, does wonders for me.....be it in a lone place or walking the streets.... A coffee shop,alone-people watching.....am good at tuning every one and every noise out,and me and my thoughts have a blast of a time

Haha, when I walk alone, I end up in the strangest places! Once, I was walking along a trail and wandered off the main path. I weaved my way through the trees and eventually came to a rest at the top of a random cliff which I later came back to and climbed down to the stream below.

And the feeling afterwards, after discovering the cliff and stream!!!!drinker

Totally, when you find something new, it's almost like you should have a party to celebrate.

"What are we celebrating this time Danny?"
"I found the absolute perfect place to go mudding!"

I love spending time with friends, writing, painting, drawing or sewing. In the summer I like to spend time in the pool. In the winter if it snows I like walking in it. I love traveling and going to different places and doing things I've never done before. All these things are enjoyable to me.

I've found walking alone totally enjoyable.. and started as a kid, exploring, as well.. yes it's fun when others tag along but typically.. it's just me and the psycho dog laugh

I too live in the country.. surrounded by acres of fields and forest.. and routinely venture out in the early morning with my dog..

just this morning I happened upon a poor, hurt chickadee hopping along in the glistening, virgin snow, trying desperately to gain higher ground (we have many feral cats around)so I scooped him up and cooed to him until I got him to the 60' pine out front, he leaped onto a thick-needled branch and turned blinking at me, as if to offer thanks.. I went into the house and found some birdseed, put it in a lil 'cup' and placed it outside on the limb next to him.. he seemed quite content and relieved..

the thing I love most about my walks are.. the way it forces a smile to creep upon my lips, no matter the mood.. every day there's something new to discover, even along the same old beaten trails, it never ceases to amaze.. plus the peace and quite of being alone with my thoughts and the contentment, that peace brings!

it's amazing how much joy one can discover, just breathing it all in!

I've found out for years now, that ain't much better was to relax your mind body and soul than taking a nice walk or jog,or,to just relax at the beach,I've always been drawn to the calming effects that it offers, mornings and evenings are always best!!

I am afraid to walk alone here where I live. If you was to run up on someone's meth lab or pot patch you would get killed.
