Wouldn't it be a good idea to become a feminist to attract feminine beings? Or do you guys think the cavemen were above that?

by that logic the reverse would be true. if you want a man act like one.

I don't remember my history that well but prehistoric peoples focused on survival. they did have a sort of structural organization, but were dominated by the male.

on a side note, if you want to effect change in others, you have to first represent it within yourself.

I am proposing that even cavemen could have been feminists, it would have been to his advantage. They could then act cavey and go hunting or fight off predators knowing the woman might want to stick around to cook dinner and more.

could have been.....

in that case we aren't dealing with reality but with supposition.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
When we came down out of the trees and began living in caves we developed the prefrontal cortex of our brain by the meat added to our diets. Now that we have established ourselves as the dominant species on earth, systemized farming and livestock, and developed technology that can compute faster than most humans can speak it seems there is a lot less use of the brain. This is evident in this post. Way to go Ana! Estelle, hide behind the chainsaws.

How do you come to the assumption that women were dominated by men? That's what I am talking about yet you just state it like it's a fact without any reasoning to back it up.

historically developing cultures had this out of necessity.

I suppose my comment is as factual as your previously stated
'cavemen could have been feminists'.

feminism involves higher thinking and dissatisfaction with the structure of society.
prehistoric peoples hadn't yet acheived that level of civilization

Feminism only means treating women equally, it could have existed before the fabrication of sexism.

It doesn't Estelle, treating a woman equally is simply to give your heart to her and vice versa. If you do this everything else will fall in place naturally.

feminism: the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.

none of the above has to do with prehistoric peoples or establishing relationships.
anyway, good luck

I agree with this. being in a relationship is not about control.
it's about loving each other and valuing what each brings to the other.

Ok. Let's say feminism is not only about treating women equally because I am not really stuck on a word, so try and catch my drift..

Before sexism against women was fabricated by men, like say in the caveman era, wouldn't it have been to the caveman's advantage to treat women equally?

to have her join the hunt and face down the prey they hoped to have for dinner? you bet it would be to his advantage. he might have a higher chance of survival against a dangerous woolly mammoth or whatever
and if they did kill their targeted objective, why not have her drag it back to the settlement

ok I'm being a smart aleck.
there were necessary duties that were done accordingly to promote survival. whether it was by obligations or natural accord, it helped them evolve into more organized socialization.

forgive me for saying this but the biggest battle you're fighting is against yourself.
not all men are sexist, domineering or abusive.

you often talk about feminism and equality. my earlier comment about effecting change in others starts with you is that one needs to be the model of what they preach.

feminism is not just the idea of equality but also the action behind it. like being a strong, confident woman. obtaining an education and working side by side with a man. it is about the empowerment of women.

In earlier times the inequality (if that is the term) was because we women needed the powerful caveman to protect us. It was a mutually beneficial agreement. Clearly defined by need. Need to stay alive and the need to procreate.
