People around here run into the grocery store in pjs all the time. So what? They are covered at least. Does this really hurt anyone's life? I have class but I do it. I don't dress to impress people. I wear what I want. I will dress proper for an interview, funeral, church, etc. Who the hell needs to impress someone while picking up milk? Don't like it then don't look. Seems silly to me.

The 1st time I saw someone wear pjs in the store...my thought was "damn she looks comfy"

If I got offended it would be because of a tshirt that is vulgar or offensive (rascist, etc) or showing way too much. Guess what? I can look away ohwell

Assuming? I do shower after a long day. I get comfortable at home then realize I needed something at the store. Or how about a mom running late to take her kids to school amd didn't anticipate needing to run into the store. I can't speak for others because I don't assume to know.

Kind of like when I see someone dressed a little too showcasing for my taste...I don't assume they sleep around. I assume that is what they like to wear.

Others aren't out to impress my fashion sense and I'm not out to impress others. I know who I am. Of someone doesn't like it...they can look away. Kind of like tv...change the channel

To me burlesque clothes, lots of piercings, tattoo sleeve, mohawks...whatever aren't my style. I tend to wear jeans and cowboy boots. But I don't make assumptions abput those that like them.

Btw...I actually shower twice a day thank you biggrin

Didn't mean to offend. I've never seen anyone in pjs in a shop, or dropping op her kids at school in them... I've been late as well in the past, then I would simply be another 10 - 15 minutes later, cause I do bathe and get dressed before I go out, regardless. You wouldn't go to work in pjs because you're late either (I spose).
Guess it's a cultural thing. Hope it doesn't catch on here, lol.

no worries. i am not offended at all. I don't dress to impress anyone and I don't expect others to either. There are many reasons for looks. Fashion sense, time restraints...whatever. That doesn't make a person though

I normally dress conservative. Even when I go out. Normally it is country conservative. Doesn't make me a prude any more than a woman dressing a little provacative doesn't make them easy.

I was just trying to make this point

We were talking about this at a bar I go to once in a while. Some complaining about dressing up with heels for work , bartenders dressing a certain way. I now clean houses (probably look homeless when I am done lol...but believe me I shower. I hate feeling nasty)

We were going to set up a pj night during the week to have fun and relax. Many schools have pj day and the teachers have worn pjs with robes, slippers and curlers.

Those are always fun....or nerd day

Heck my 24 yr old son bought us silly st patty hats to wear. We wore those all day...to the bar, store and driving. Someone stared at us we would just smile and wave and say "shhh they're after me lucky charms"

I don't feel ' offended' by seeing someone in public, in pajamas.
* Offend- to irritate, annoy or anger, cause resentful displeasure in,or wounded feelings*
But ' first impressions ', imo do matter. No matter, the circumstances, or even if it is unfair.

The ONLY time I was 'offended' by what someone wore, was as you said a " vulgar or offensive T-shirt"
I seen a man with a T-shirt implying that - sex with children is the best sex- .... I actually felt violent towards him. And I warned the cashier, in this small shop, that she may have to call the police * I was serious! ... yikes! *
I told him he was " the scum of the Earth & was chasing all the neighborhood customers away". And I called the owner later & never went back to the shop.

Couldn't have said it better myself. It has nothing to do with being offended, its just first impressions & how people view others at first glance. If you don't care how you come across then so be it but i think getting dressed and being presentable is just a general rule before leaving the house imo.

 We naturally access our surroundings & people around us.
Instincts I assume.

Like me & the perv T-shirt guy .... Well.... I have no casualties to report... . But, I needed GREAT restraint, that day. Because legally, I would of been in the wrong. Because of freedom of speech * even though, his shirt was refering to a a major felony * mad:

I used the term offend because it comes across that it does iirritate ot annoy some. Of it doesn't then why care.

Flannel pj bottoms and a tshirt isn't presentable? You are covered (more than some in regular clothes) and it is just pants and shirt. Sounds odd to me. Why would I (or anyone) care what someone's impression os at a grocery store? Didn't realize there is a dress code to get milk laugh

If someone has a negative impression based on that, that is their problem. Not mine. I don't dress for someone's approval unless it has to do with work (income) or to be respectful (church, funeral, etc)....not a grocery store.

I listed a couple of reasons someone might dress that way. IMO who cares? Someone's impression doesn't ruun my day indifferent
