Perhaps no one described Memorial Day in just a few sentences better than Ronald Reagan at Arlington National Cemetery in 1986:

"Today is the day we put aside to remember fallen heroes and to pray that no heroes will ever have to die for us again. It's a day of thanks for the valor of others, a day to remember the splendor of America and those of her children who rest in this cemetery and others. It's a day to be with the family and remember."

If you've lost a loved one or friend in the defense of our country, please accept my sincere condolences

My grandfathers died before my time in World War II as young soldiers, defending their country, leaving behind young wives and children. They fought on the Allied side. In memoriam of all those brave souls who fought for our freedoms and rights, let's bow our heads in reverence, gratitude and appreciation. flowerforyou

Thank you to those who died while serving in the United States' armed forces. Without them, I may not be nearly as free.
