What they can do legally, what they say the do, and what they actually do is often different.

Depends on the company and depends on the job. If you are doing something dangerous don't kid yourself they are going as far back as they can afford to look. If they are depending on your work to make them safe in their job they are going to look even harder. If they have to use fair means or foul.

Don't kid yourself for a minute that they don't look on free sites to see if they can find you doing something they don't like. Or information they can use to their advantage. Even coworkers will rat you out. Especially if you are leaving or it means one more person between them and a lay off.

All people have to do is spend a few bucks and research you privately and it never gets back to the company.

It is one thing to commit social suicide on public media but it is a much more punishing one to commit career suicide on line. Not hard to google search a picture from a security camera. Be surprised how many idiots use the same photos for career and personal.

I don't know what your occupation is but with mine I have arrest powers so I had to undergo a FBI background check, fingerprints, and drug test.

I have Arrest Powers as an Agent of the company I work for. Basically a Private Party Arrest.

anyone can arrest anyone... you don't need special powers for that
