I could say all sorts of funny things here but I'm gonna be politically correct and agree that it is the choice of the person. As for why they do it, maybe ask this guy why he does it? Why not?

I'm not in that situation, so I can't know for sure, but I think they just either really want to be women, for whatever reason (they feel more like a woman, they have some deep-seated hatred for being a man, etc.), or they just feel sexy like that. I wear specific articles of clothing designed for women (no, not THAT) simply because it fits and shows off my body more effectively than men's clothing.

But wearing the whole outfit, etc. is going way overboard, and I still don't really understand why they do it.

To each their own.

They have the right to dress any way they want.

Great question. I have a friend like that. The longer he has been staying off drugs I have noticed and even the women in the same group that I attend have notice that his voice is getting deeper. So far everyone but one person in the group is calling him Danielle but one guy who calls him Dan even though the guy who dresses in women's clothing calls himself Danielle. Danielle has went from wearing pink fingernail polish to wearing white fingernail polish. First time I saw Danielle I thought he was sexy. Later the guy who keeps calling Danielle took me aside and asked me, "You do know that is a guy don't you?" I said, "No". From studying Danielle over the course of a month I would say that it make him happy.

sometimes it's the fact that they may look like a man on the outside but they truly do not feel the same on the inside. it's not always a sexual feeling as much as it is a feeling of belonging. It's not always men trying to be women sometimes it;s the other way around and the individual truly feels they were born the wrong sex. they look the part physically but emotionally they just aren't. i went to school with a guy who was a hermaphrodite (born with both sexes) his parents based on what the dr's believed at the time made him a boy but he never felt right he looked the part but emotionally and sexually he felt like a girl..........he was bi. he never felt like he fit in with either sex. just some food for thought

Well I guess I will step up to the plate here.

Not that I ever wanted to be a woman, because I like having a wee wee. But to be as beautiful as one was always a big issue at one point. You see, women are beautiful to me. To be some dirty hairy guy and feel as if I deserved this beautiful creature didn't seem right. These beautiful things called women need an equal, a match. Plus, you see lesbians right? Why do they require the use of an object very similar to the male organ known as a penis? IF they are not attracted to men? At one point, I felt I had the worst luck with women, so I thought to myself. What if I dressed up like a girl and hooked up with lesbians? Ofcourse that was rather silly. That is a few thoughts that did come to mind out there in the open. So go ahead and say what you want, I don't care. indifferent

There is a shelf at the library for that too! drinker

It really isn't all that weird. I haven't done it but
have known a few. And some women who didn't mind it a bit...
rather were into it - and some women couples. in fact, they
wanted to take me to the spa and dress me too. but...
i knew it was only cause they wanted to humiliate me
sexually as a group. so i remained virtuous to spite them
and drive them crazy with desire.

Believe it or not, all men that dress in drag aren't gay.
Milton Beryl was one and there are more who make a good living at it.
Sounds to me, the op is pretty curious. Go ahead and try it. You might not look back.
