We avoided the worst of it on Long Island. It turned out to sea before it ever got here. Sun and wind today dried everything out. Good to go for work tomorrow morning.

Days of rain and high winds in North Carolina... Power outage for 6 hours... Flood watch/Warnings... Nothing bad where I am...

Tapered off today.. Breezy...

Dont know of those in South Carolina...

We'll gladly take all the rain you guys on the East Coast want to give us out in California. We've finally gotten some more rain today, but it only dribbles for about 30 seconds and then quits for several hours.
You can keep the hurricane winds, though. We don't need those.

Thanks everyone, we are getting pounded pretty good and I live on a river so there is even more worrying about flooding. It is a double edged sword for me because I am supposed to move to a house on higher ground on Tuesday so I guess mother nature is kicking me before I get out..lol.. My concern is for the people right on the coast line and I have been called into work to help with a possible evacuation of tourists who are in town for a motorcycle week.At least the power is still on so the beer is cold..lol.. thank you all for your concern...Jack

Have a beer for me, Jack. I so want a beer!

Glad you are ok!

SC always gets the worst of it.

Wow things are worse than I thought. I just spent 3 hours trying to get to work all major roads are shut down, the flooding is crazy maybe the worst ever and we still have another day of hard rain. I am starting to worry and the river I live on is rising to very high levels if it overfills there will be no where to go because the roads are blocked off. I hope the rains fades soon.My worries go to the elderly and those less fortunate then myself.

OH Jack, Pancho and I were wondering how you were doing? We both were so concerned with the new house you just bought how you were weathering this storm.
Glad to hear that you are okay..
From what the news has been sharing it is so horrible to see the homes just washing away.

Storm so glad you are on higher ground.

Will continue to send prayers out to all during this time

I truly got lucky I was supposed to move during the storm but I managed to get a truck today and loaded everything as fast as I could and headed to my new house which is Thank God on high land.My old house the dam is breeching and soon the flooding will be terrible.I am worried for my old neighbors who are as nice as can be.

Hang in there ya all.

My kids called and so far their not under water in greater Norfolk.

Jack so glad to get your news. Still praying for you all and know that everyone will pull together.

Eric glad you are doing well too.

Ft. Bragg here is suffering from harsh water restrictions. Too bad we can't just have water pipe lines to have it where it is needed.

I was happy to find this post and see how many people were thinking of SC during the floods. It was the worst natural disaster I had ever personally experienced. I am grateful that Jack and I escaped the worst of it. I also live close to a river. It was a bizarre and scary experience.

Sorry to hear you had to get through this misery too. Hopefully you are recovering and having a Blessed and Bountiful holiday.

So far El Nino is helping us more than it is hurting us here in California but hopefully it will keep coming at us in small measures so than we can heal from the drought and fires. The snow in the Sierra is such a God Send.
