In what ways are you NOW like your parents or the people who raised you?
In what ways are you different?

Religion, Politics, Lifestyle, Money, Raising children.. Etc.

Examples:
I was a very rebellious in my parents & extended family's eyes (& probably much of society's  ), until somewhere after 38 yrs old.
When I started to become like them noway & scared myself. scared

But now.. I realize they are the liberal & free spirit ones & I am the conservative one & set in my ways.

My mom & I laugh at that now. laugh

My parents are still devout Catholics.
I am not, since College days.

My parents are never interested in Politics
as far as I know.
I have always been interested in Politics,
ever since.

I grew up in a household not having much
in terms of finances.
But my mother always makes sure we do not
sleep with empty stomach.
My lifestyle maybe different now, because
of the career I've chosen, but part of me
always wanted to live a simple non-urban life,
like my parents do.

For 2 years now I am in night shift in the office &
few months now in graveyard shift.
And work on Christmas & New Year Holidays.
I have decided recently, that no matter what,
I will do my best to change this kind of lifestyle.
Someday I will start my day with sunrise &
end it too with sunset.
Just like my parents do.

My Father died when I was fifteen, he taught me to live life daily, this is something I do with a full heart and soul.

Mum died when I was 22, we did not get along when I was in my teens, yet as I have gotten older, I do understand
Now, some of her reasonings in life...

like my dad i am finding myself with to many projects, not enough time and none of them getting done. time to put most of them in a box and concentrate on just a couple of the most important.

My dad had the addage - Never put too many irons in the fire or the fire will go out.

He also said only fools argue over politics and religion.

He also said, if you have nothing you will always find something if you look hard enough.

I am very much like both my parents
Both hard workers and hate owing money to anyone
We both paid off homes within 14 years

Mum and dad would be still together if he didn't die
married 38 years
me 17 years

They love the beach. I was put off the beach after watching Jaws.
I love the lake

They both were supervisors in a factory
I went to university and still refuse to work in one.
Nothing wrong with factory I get bored to quickly.

They had 6 kids
I had 3

They were in love with each other
I loved but not in love.

Both parents had cancer
I haven't

Parents are gardeners
I do it so the neighbors don't have a better looking house than me. This is true

All of us love road trips with music

We all enjoy meeting new people and making them feel they are loved

Dad used to say that nobody is happy all the time. Try to be content and happiness will come on its own.
Until about 5 years ago I had no idea how wise that was.
Now I have no doubt.

Like my parents I am hard working and good with the money I have saved.
