Topic: Too Early for Christmas?

To me, "the Christmas season" starts the day after Thanksgiving. I think that we should make time to enjoy EACH holiday, & I further believe that Thanksgiving is a more-worthy (and honest?) holiday than many that we celebrate.

If only it lent itself to commercialization... whoa

I tend to decorate early to avoid the risk of fall and getting help when I can. I don't mind the lights as it sometimes gets me in the mood when I would rather just not bother. And I know my much senior neighbors say it helps them not feel so much like it is totally and elderly neighborhood.

I do try to enjoy each holiday but often it is not possible for travel on all holidays and work is done when it is available and can make the difference in paying bills early in the
New Year for some.

I made a point of putting up my Green lights for Veteran's on Veterans Day and before what will be Christmas Exodus for military.

Of course have switched around lights to reflect the tragedy in France.

Symbols mean different things to different people. Our lights are turned off to symbolize the absence of our head of Home the day he passed in December many years ago.

Just my opinion

In stores not until after Thanksgiving!

In the home it is personal preference but I think not until after Nov. 15 th, and not after Jan. 15th.
