I don't understand the fuss. Especially from those on the right.

Facebook is a private enterprise company, offering a service, in exchange for advertising money.

It's not an arm of the government.

It's not a required element of everyone's lives.

It's a product. It's run by a small group of capitalist people, out to make money by catering to whatever they perceive the market to be.

Any reference to facebook "censoring" content, as though it has something to do with Freedom of Speech, or controlling political dialog, is absurd.

To be opposed to Facebooks' choices, and to want it to be forced to behave differently, means you want the government to step in and direct a luxury service, which if it disappeared tomorrow, wouldn't affect a damn thing.

thats kinda the problem, the governments have already stepped in... facebook is a world wide media hub, it needs to watch what it sensors or doesn't sensor, and it seems only zuckerburg has the options...Jewish sounding name, not sure why he would allow the Palestine website on the video tho...

seems the admission from the Horse's Mouth wasn't enough to convince you!
Wonder why? (musing)

We can only work by or analysis on this, since we aren't privy to the logs referencing each decision. But based on previous similar observed experiences, we have a fairly typical case of a private business trying to please various governments, in order to extract profits from operating in areas under their control.

There's a difference between doing what a government limits you to, and being an arm of that government.

And why one site is censored and another isn't? At least two most probable explanations, again based on previous similar stuff:

* one site has a government that the site owner WANTS to please, and the other doesn't;

* one site's problematic behaviors have been objected to by such a government, and the other's hasn't. Yet. It could be that we just haven't seen the other shoe drop, so to speak.

Anything that has to do with the media is biased
