If most people are predestined to go to hell, shouldn't they try to have as much fun as possible while alive?

Does anyone here believe in predestination?

I believe we all have choices. Those choices prove our destiny.

I’m predestined to go to heaven. bigsmile

But I still have as much fun as possible! drinker

The bottom line for me is pretty simply,...

Sin simply doesn’t equate to fun for me.

On the contrary, I have more fun doing good things. flowerforyou

No, I don't believe in predestination. With your question, you have pointed out one of the many logical and ethical problems with predestination, which I believe was intentional.

predestination in terms of birth or are you saying in regard to we mess up so you think we'll go there?

i don't think that's attacking. while it is a direct statement and potentially could cause someone to become defensive, it doesn't have too. and no i don't either...why do you bring it up though? and this would be way more interesting if someone who believed in predestination would contribute...i'm only curious in hearing from the other side..so if someone does say something no one jump on them or attack them.

Philosopher, I find that interesting.

I know I was told if I dont baptise my children, they will not have a place in Heaven, as if the very ceremonial sprinkling of water on their head guarantees them a place.

And the options if I didn't?

Oh my!! The horrible picture painted for my innocent little angels that awaited them from the very decision that I made...and all my fault!!!

No talk of sin, no talk of them accepting anyone into their heart, solely, me the blackest hearted evil woman, if I didn't baptise my children..

My children would be predestined for hell, because I didn't baptise them...noway

(Lucky I don't believe in any ghost train version of hell at the end of this lifetime)

We chose our own destinies, that's why God gave us Free Will

Some of the things people believe is just unbelievable. laugh

They must think God is some kind of a jerk. I mean how many people do you know who would be cold-hearted enough to send children to hell because their parents didn’t baptize them?

I always figure that God has to be at least as nice as me.

Then I know I’m safe.

lol interestingly hell is not ever directly mentioned in the bible...feel free to disagree with me if you'd like, only if you do, please point out exactly where its mentioned.

I disagree. What do you make of say Matthew 25:41 or Revelation 20:15. Are you seeking a particular word you'd like to equate with 'hell?' Are you objecting to equating 'sheol' with 'hell?' What is it that causes you to deny a 'direct' mention of hell? The bible in its many flavors and versions mentions various forms of hell with modest frequency. Doesn't Job experience hell?

Thier is predestination because Yahweh knows the beginning from the end. We have free will but he also knows what choice we will make. This is his knowledge and his alone as a father.Jeremiah was predestined and IsaYah and John the baptists as was our savior. He will destroy all evil in the end which is predestined. We are just in a learning exictance learning what is good and what is evil because of Adam and Eve.But when the new Jerusalem comes down not only do we have new bodies but also new minds with all evil wiped clean... Blessings.... Miles

People choose to go to hell rather than submit their lives to God. You have absolute free will within the confines of your personal ability. All people living have a purpose. And if they so choose a path that leads them to hell, perhaps along the way some people destined for hell will save other's lives, either intentionally or unintentionally. If all people were on the same spiritual path, there would be nobody for God's people to help.

No such thing as predestination.

If there was, not only would religion be pointless, but so would pesonal achievement.

If thier wasn't then Yahshua's statement that no man knows the hour when the Day of Yahweh is except the father himself. So he knows exactly how events will unfold and when or Yahshua is a liar. I refuse to believe that.. Blessings... Miles

That's cool man - everyone's got thier own opinion and Predestination is hardly a new issue for Christianity. It's an oooooold discussion.

But personally, if somebody was born to go to hell, if God created a person knowing they were going to hell, it's kind of hard to hold them responsible for following God's will. It's kind of like a train being run on a track, it can't just jump the tracks and go anywhere else, so why fault it when it arrives at the destined station? I just don't see it.

Miles - question. If God knows every outcome of every birth, then how could there possibly be judgment at the end?

So what reason is there to restrict one's life or limit in any way with the encombrance of religion?

Why not just live for he sake of the experience, enjoy the ride and the company, no matter what personal faith may be involved?
