Philosophy is a necessity for a rational being: philosophy is the foundation of science, the organizer of man’s mind, the integrator of his knowledge, the programmer of his subconscious, the selector of his values.

Science was born as a result and consequence of philosophy; it cannot survive without a philosophical (particularly epistemological) base. If philosophy perishes, science will be next to go.

It is not the special sciences that teach man to think; it is philosophy that lays down the epistemological criteria of all special sciences.

If you study physics, for example. You will find deep insights that are being proven every day. These discoveries are science in it's purest form. Einstein's theories are only now being proven in some parts such as gravitational waves. Some areas of physics deal with objects too small to measure that act in ways that can be proven mathematically only. As the projected theories involve smaller and smaller operations, physical proof is physically impossible at this time and theoretical science becomes philosophy.

Hey Frank,

Bella Nguyen is a very common name. Ran her thru pig busters. There are no scammers using that tag.

Welcome to Mingle, Bella. Yes I belive there is a connection between philosophy and science.
Science is the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.

Philosophy the study of the the intellectual and practical fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline.

Very similar. Imo, philosophy was used as an early form of science. More in balance with nature. Science is purely empirical. Needs facts and data. With the discovery of the Higgs-Boson particle or God particle, science seems to be asking the question , what if there is a supreme being. Maybe we are returning to a philosophy system the way Socrates was discovering science and nature.
