According to recent reports, Philadelphia police officer James McCullough was recently released from the hospital after being shot. His attacker has been taken into custody.

McCullough gave reporters a thumbs up as he made his way out of Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

23-year-old Scott Griffin was arrested on Monday, and is now facing attempted murder and robbery charges. Police say he was in the possession of a gun.

“We are not sure it’s the weapon,” Capt. James Clark on the homicide unit told reporters. “We believe that is, but we obviously are waiting for ballistics to find out.”

Police say Griffin opened fire on 24-year-old McCullough, hitting him once in the leg. Griffin already has a long record, and has been arrested 14 times.

The shooting followed a robbery and carjacking in the area. Police believe that Griffin robbed a man in the 5900 block of Market Street, and then continued on to carjack a woman at gunpoint at Salford and market.

The woman flagged down officers, and McCullough got into a struggle with Griffin, who ran away and opened fire.

“It’s a dangerous job, but they do it with pride and professionalism, and we’re very proud of them,” Ross told reporters. “And again, we’re very thankful that he is going to be okay.”

Black shooter, white cop. Al and Jesse must be out of the country on another vacation because we all know they would be doing the right thing and speaking out about this tragedy of a black male
who shot a police officer in cold blood.

Forget about it. smokin
Philadelphia is just another Baltimore. (Black democrat city, run by blacks, black on black crimes on who ever is left).

Cops being social workers in CANADA.. Would be an interesting thread on it's own.

Because if the police officer would have shot first they would be all over this. Another THUG off the streets, all though they should have put him down in the street like the dog he is.

 We never should of abolished some of our old laws.
The majority didn't want it.
That was not progress, that was stupidity.
Looking back.. It may have been the beginning of k@ssing a@s to appease people who screamed the loudest.

Its rare that people are all over police for shooting someone armed who draws on them

or that Sharpton has come to the aid of someone with a firearm brandished who was shot by the police, especially where no one died
