Possible Brexit May Take Up to Seven Years - European Council Head

The UK nationals are set to vote on June 23 in a referendum on the country's EU membership, after Prime Minister David Cameron and the leaders of the 27 EU member states agreed in February to grant the United Kingdom a special status within the bloc.

"The dissolution of all [UK-EU] contractual obligations and ties will be sad, but relatively simple, it will take approximately for two years. The talks on the new relations status will be much more difficult. Each of the 27 EU member states and the European Parliament must approve the overall result. It will take at least five years to complete the process, and, I am afraid, without guarantees of success," Tusk told the Bild newspaper in an interview published on Sunday.

The United Kingdom's exit from the European Union (Brexit) may cause a domino effect among other EU states, which could decide to follow London's example, Sweden's Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom said.

If the Brits would cut the umbilical cord,
instead of d'kn off about it...
Brexit, would be a done deal, as soon as votes are tallied.
