my ex-husband and i really good friends.. we are better off as friends than we are as a couple. and I am happy about that since we have a kid together and we have been friends since my freshman year of high school.

I think it would be hard to be friends IF one of you still had feelings for the other one. Its hard if there are "restrictions" put on the friendship. For instance, if you can't talk about certain things..I think it puts a strain on the relationship.
I know you think you always want to remain friends, but sometimes I wonder if it would be easy to just wipe the slate clean. The last thing you want to do is hurt the other persons feelings..esp if you move on with your life and they are still hoping for a chance with you. Then you might find yourself with a "stalker" type of a relationship noway

yes you can ABSOLUTELY be friends after a break up. Thats where acting like an adult comes in. Though sometimes it's hard, it is possible.

i'm close friends with most of my exes...

there were pretty darned good reasons for me being attracted to them...and just because a relationship didn't work out doesn't mean that a friendship can't.

i'm talking about very powerful friendships that will last a lifetime, and i'm blessed for having them in my life.
