Four Chicago Teens Are Charged with Hate Crime in Facebook Live Attack of Special Needs Student The four Chicago teens accused of allegedly kidnapping and torturing a young man for hours while broadcasting the attack online have been charged with hate crimes, PEOPLE confirms. Jordan Hill, Tesfaye Cooper, Brittany Covington and Tanishia Covington, all 18, are facing felony charges after they allegedly videotaped kidnapping and beating a man Tuesday, The 30-minute video, allegedly taken by one of the female suspects, depicts a white man tied up, his mouth covered, cowering in a corner of a room. His attackers, all apparently black according to NPR and the Washington Post, surround him, laughing and shouting “ Donald Trump” and “ white people,” as they kick and punch him, before cutting his forehead with a knife. At one point during the video, one of the female suspects appears to promote her profile on Soundcloud, the music sharing website. The 18-year-old victim was found wandering the streets late Tuesday afternoon, according to the Chicago Tribune. The victim was detained for at least 24 hours and is “traumatized,” said Area North Commander Kevin Duffin. Police said they believe the man, who is mentally disabled, was missing from his home and may have been attacked at a home about a block from where he was found by police, the Tribune reports. The four were taken into custody Wednesday after the video was uploaded to YouTube. “If you commit an act of violence in the city of Chicago, you will experience the full weight of the Chicago Police Department,” Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said at a press conference. “Tonight, four individuals have felt the consequences of their actions.”

they are probably working on other things regarding INJUSTICE And that's why they have nothing to say about this incident?.. a incident on every news station in America...they are working on something else?. And they have no time to make a statement on this CURRENT INJUSTICE..( a really bad one too) Did they tell you that or you just guessing? Or is it because the victim is white...and the criminals.. are black, thus it goes totally against their agenda. That couldn't be it.. right?

I am guessing , to answer a silly , irrelevant question hence the use of the word ''probably but I am making an EDUCATED guess from what I have seen of and read about civil rights activists as terrible as this crime is, it is not an INJUSTICE by the JUSTICE SYSTEM, , it is ,instead, a crime amongst thousands of crimes committed every year that the JUSTICE SYSTEM is created to address stupidity would be running out every time a crime is committed,just because a crime was committed because no work would get done and because that is the JOB of the JUSTICE SYSTEM if the JUSTICE SYSTEM does it's job,, Activists have nothing to say about it

You hit the nail on the head, with Rev. Al and BLM it's only racial if it's white on black, that's how it is seen through a real racist's eye's. BTW, I have'nt seen our current president denouncing this hate crime( probally just unemployed teens who were bored). So much for equality I guess.

google how much crime has happened since yesterday that is interracial and keep telling yourself that anyone has or should have spoken out about every one that happened, regardless of the races involved,, and then try learning american history and the very real suspicion some groups have reason to maintain regarding how the AMERICAN systems view and treat them in comparison to others,, so much for equality , is EXACTLY the point that triggers activists to speak up for those who are historically and systematically not given 'equal' treatment

Please give me one example that can be proven where there is on going acts to hold back or stop minorities from pursuing anything they want that is legal. Then maybe you can tell me why it's so difficult for minorities to get a ID for voting. Thankyou

I did not make a claim that anything STOPS minorities. I said they are not viewed or treated 'equally'. and on the unrelated topic of ID voting is supposed to be a RIGHT however obtaining id is a COSTLY action it costs for the transportation to get to where an ID can be obtained, it also costs for the ID itself and for people who have been legally voting with their registration card and who did not need a photo id previously, it unfairly targets them

They not only violated his civil rights and committed a hate crime but also kidnapping is also a Federal offense.
