Donald Trump shocks Al Sharpton by calling him up to talk about their 'sharp disagreements'
The Reverend Al Sharpton said he was surprised to get the phone call. He and Trump have been at each other's throats for years in war of words
President-elect previously labelled the civil rights activist a 'con man'. Sharpton opposed the Trump campaign and called him 'the white Don King'.

Donald Trump has shocked Al Sharpton by calling him up and discussing their 'sharp disagreements' in the past. The civil rights preacher said the President-elect picked up the phone unexpectedly and the pair 'talked briefly' after opposing his campaign during the race to the White House. They have been at each other's throats for years, with the Republican accusing Sharpton of being a 'con man' and Trump being labelled a 'white Don King' by the baptist minister.

'We did talk briefly. I was surprised and candid about our sharp disagreements and so was he,' Sharpton told the New York Post. 'He met with Mayor de Blasio who is critical, like I am, of him,' he said.
Trump also thanked the Reverend Sharpton for praising him on his business success on MSNBC's Morning Joe program. The activist had previously gone after the President-elect for questioning Barack Obama's credentials by asking if he was born in the US. 'I think what he has said has been biased and bigoted, but I don't know if Donald Trump is really a bigoted guy,' Sharpton told Politico's Glenn Thrush. 'The best way I can describe Donald Trump to friends is to say if Don King had been born white he'd be Donald Trump.
'Both of them are great self-promoters and great at just continuing to talk even if you're not talking back at them.'

That's great and very admirable. Let's see who's the better man. Maybe they will both be better men as a result.

As the old saying goes keep your friends close and your enemy's closer....

Anybody with half a brain would know that if you have a figure that many follow and keeps things stirred up then you need to deal with those people and find a happy middle....

I'm not a Al Sharpton fan at all~~~noway

The only difference between David Duke and Al Sharpton is skin color.

without the felony conviction, of course

In the case of Al Sharpton and David Duke, its true. Both are racist and society has no need for either.

in the case of King and Trump its true too

both are selfish opportunists who feed off of controversy and fighting,, and the White House needs neither

King hunted Garrett down at a local bar, dragged him outside and proceeded to engage in what police charged was a hellacious battle. Garrett wound up dead, his head smashed against the sidewalk.

King was convicted of manslaughter for the above...went to prison for it.. is that the guy you are comparing to the President of the United States?

Really?...a convicted felon

Sorry.. the felony conviction is due to a basic mindset.. a severe character flaw, that followed him thru out his life.

Not even close to Trump.

When Trump kills someone.. takes the guy out to the sidewalk and beats him to death, then you can lump their names together.. but until then.. nah...

But nice try.

HAAAA,,

what part of 'without felony conviction' is hard to understand?

similarities

both get a rise out of inciting others
both bolster superiority by yelling about others inferiority
both have grandiose opinions of themself
both have made good money off of their skill in bullshitting others,,,,

no, they didnt both kill a man

and they didnt both have rich established families who could loan them millions

,,,,,never said they were DUPLICATES,,,ohwell

you have a problem with people who don't agree with your views.

What you see as similar, I see as opposites. But you can't see a different view.. just yours.

A killer and the sworn in President are not.. similar. One Killed.. with his hands.. on a sidewalk outside some seedy bar.. and one did not.
Compare a non killer and the president.. then you would have more credibility.

I have no problem, I give what I get sometimes is all.

nice try,,

and we agree , they are not SIMILAR in their criminal history

we dont agree, that they are therefore not similar in ANY OTHER WAYS

some other shocked similarities

they are both MALE,,,

they are both rich

they are both friends

they both make livings 'promoting' something (the Trump name, boxing matches)

they both have been accused of having ties to organized crime

they both are senior citizens
