Has anyone hiked the PCT? I am not seriously thinking of doing the entire trail myself but I'm listening to books and reading about it and fascinated with the idea of taking a few months to hike up the coast.

Does anyone else feel a calling from the PCT?

Never heard of the PCT, but I have driven the 101 from San Fran to Seattle. It is a beautiful part of the country.

No, but we see the bikers going down 101 here, travelling
between Canada and Mexico via 101 to catch the trail inland
when it reaches California..they often overnight at the
State Park in town.

It does not seem to hug the coast :-)

Driving is how I'd most likely go! laugh waving

I found one book about hiking the PCT and found this whole cult of more books and sites (including the movie "Wild" that came out a couple years ago). It would be a life changing experience to do so, but huge time commitment!

Nice to see you again too Soufiehere! flowerforyou

Well I can tell you the stretch between Palm Springs,
California, and Lincoln City, Oregon, takes 21 hours
by car :-)

That's a hard core hiker trip if you want to do it all. A friend of mine tried to hike it all starting down in socal and heading north. He made it 6weeks in then gave up. I would suggest you pick a small section to go enjoy and not look at the whole Mexico to Canada thing.

My 2 cents.
