Survivor: Theo Padnos
A small miracle - a rare moment of truth on the mainstream media.

Buried below all of the salacious and sensational headlines and faux Russian intrigue in Washington over the last week, FOX News host Tucker Carlson delivered a stunning short interview withTheo Padnos, an American journalist who was held captive for two years (2012 - 2014) by US-UK and GCC-backed terrorists from Al Nusra Front aka Al-Qaeda in Syria.

During the last 6 years under president Barack Obama, failing US officials like Hillary Clinton and John Kerry have been whitewashing the true nature of the co-called "moderate rebels" in Syria - repeatedly attempting to characterize them as righteous 'freedom fighters' striving for an embryonic democracy in Syria. Padnos obliterates the institutional US government and media deception on this subject, and sets the record straight about the wanton savagery of so-called 'rebels', many of whom are not even from Syria:

"They're murdering people in the streets, they're employing children as torturers. They are destroying the society over there."

"Some of them are interested in money, some of them are interested in power, some of them love their guns. They're having a wonderful time during the Jihad... (...) They have the keys to these cool pick-up trucks, they have free food..."

"They're constructing a real prison archipelago over there - full of prisoners, and full of anyone they really don't like."

"An incredible axis of power to many young men who have had none for most of their lives - it's a dangerous scenario that's unfolding over there in parts of the country that the government doesn't control."

The host then asked Padnos what he thought of the Assad government in Syria. The answer was not something you will ever hear from any of the 'experts' on CNN or NBC who have been all-out for regime change since hostilities broke out in 2011:

"The Assad regime? Right now, there is approx 16 million people who are living in safety. The schools function, the universities function, hospitals function, there's traffic police in the streets. Listen, it's not Switzerland - it's not a perfect society - I think they themselves recognize this. Anybody who wants peace in Syria will acknowledge and respect the peace that they have at the moment and not degrade and damage it somehow - which the Obama Administration has done by sending missiles and all kinds of weaponry to the 'rebels' - which I thought was disgraceful because it destroyed such peace, as there was."

"There remains a situation in which there are rebel enclaves and these rebel enclaves are not peaceful, of course not. They are being destroyed. Look, it's a civil war. The rebel enclaves - just a minority of the population lives there, the majority of Syrians are living a relative peace under the Assad regime. Yes, that is preferable to the bombings and the crucifixions in the streets that we are seeing, and the murdering of citizens, the torturing and the imprisoning of random which is what they [the 'rebel' terrorists] are doing."

While I don't want them bringing their violent ideology into more civilized nations, I don't support this idea of being casual about them killing themselves 'over there'. There are not all violent, and there are many innocent muslim victims over there.

Eventually I hope that we will be able to convert them to a more humane worldview. But we need to face the reality that islamic ideology encourages violence.

We will never be able to "convert" them to anything. They look at non Muslims as the ones who need converting.

So, you have 2 sides that can not possibly change.. will not change. Can't. None will give up their core beliefs.

And you have one side probing.. attacking.. instigating. In the name of their God

Until the other side has finally had enough and strikes back in full force.

WW3.. the holy war.

Hope I'm wrong.. but the writing looks to be on the wall.

They are victims of their own religion and ideology. They live in oil rich countries but live in mud huts and have nothing better to do than
plot terrorism and blow people up. Just me, but I prefer they do that
stuff'over there'.bigsmile

Not actual news. Those who were paying attention, knew all along that as usual, the rebels that the US was backing, were far from saints.

This is the norm, not some stunning reveal. If you look honestly at ANY of the rebellions that the US has backed over the centuries, you'll find that we chose a side based on US interests first.

of course, you're right... But the problem with it is we, the American people, are the ones being duped, for about 30-40 years of our government lies...

absolutely ... Yemen for 1 ... Pakistan... could name a few others ...
but my issue is with giving more to our military like ...
trump once to do ... we lost Billions ...
that know one seems to know where it went for our military ...
from the 2 Bush era and going forward till now ... They Get $ they can not keep track of and then wants more to go to our military innovation ... we are the largest military in the world ... 1/2 of the peoples $ goes to the military ...
and they want to take our medical away ...
we could have this paid for the future.. if they did not take it
and invest it and them loose it ... yrs ago ... we need the ...
quality of life here in America first ... and every thing Trump has done... has been in the works for yrs... he is doing nothing new but sure as H*ll wants you to think it ... a shame of the Dakota pipeline ...all that protest for saving the water and land ...has now been proven what they have been trying to prevent all along ...
now with the leaks ... think what oops did not mean to go off on a rant like that ...justslaphead

It goes back a heck of a lot further than that. It's pretty standard world wide, for a government to use some amount of what amounts to propaganda (i.e. lies, exaggerations, "emphasis on the positives") in order to try to unify support for their programs.

Even that whole "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap, was this kind of stuff. It's all part of why, to be a serious American citizen, we all need a LOT more education than most of us ever get.

There hasn't been a rebel force that actually lived up to the "Robin Hood" type stories told about them by their supporters, ever. Just as there never has really been an external nation supporting a rebellion for purely idealistic reasons, ever. But you will almost invariably hear the same kind of stories told about each side, because that's what "sells."
